Why are the Blizzard maps all the same? A main, natural - sometimes internal, 2 - 3 2nds, 1 - 3 thirds. Every map is 100% symmetrical.
I recall the original Starcraft having more organic melee maps. So what gives? Once upon a time it wasn't about making sure that bad players (Diamond and below, I guess) all had 100% equal odds in a ranking system that means nothing. Map variety is the spice of RTS. Blizzard killed it. Why?
probably the opposite of what ur saying........in the sense that alot of those "diverse" maps were actually race favored heavily maps .. and well u want to remove as much imba as possible right? so i would assume thats why it was removed.
to your point about low tier players as the reason for this change though.. meh i would disagree fully with that. Its actually pro feedback that caused this shift. Noobs dont care what map they play on.. they not good enough anyway to fully take advantage of race favored maps anyway. The complainers were the pros, not the noobs.
