I am currently working on a map where you and others are in a Free For All against each other. All you have is 1 Prisoner Civilian.
The list of current Abilities/upgrades are, Increase Movement speed, Vision, Health, Energy, Sight radius, Armor. And have 1 attack ability called Rage Burst that is pretty much a nuclear launch. lol.
The name of my map (in progress) is Insane Asylum. Last man standing wins. I would like to however add more 'espionage' stuff to it to make it more interesting. but can't think of any ideas at the moment, lol.
So - here i am, you have any ideas on some abilities i could add to my map?
EDIT for better description of the game at hand.
How it starts out is that you "have to" click random buttons on the screen that are in random locations and size in order to gain a physical form (civilian). Once that is competed, you will regenerate energy and health at a fixed rate (pre upgrade). you can spend your health or energy on upgrades that improve your Civ. (listed above). Eventually you can move very fast and have a lot of health/energy and so on. Your objective is to destroy the other players all the while, everyone is cloaked. You can set off a 'rage burst' to attack with but also reveals your location so its user beware type of thing. The nuclear blast does not hurt you and only hurts enemies but you give away your location which can be used against you. Outside of upgrades (listed above) I would like to add more aspects of espionage to the game so its more difficult for each player.
if espionage is your goal; then you could lay traps. mirror images. dummy units.
With no idea how your game actually works, it will be difficult for people to leave feedback for you. Make a 5 min video or something. Otherwise, I am left suggesting the 900 abilities that come with the editor, since you have no standards outlined.

lol good point. however, i could probably explain it better and in less time than a video (since i can't do that at the moment). it's a really simple game. lol.
Your nuclear burst is like a slightly more vile version of an active sonar in submarines for example. You can check your distance but also reveal your position.
What you could go into is having different modes of movement, like noiceless vs. fast. (I recently watched 'hunt for red october')
If you go with this kind of radar/soar approach you can start thinking about decoys/ dummy units as suggested before.
Maybe you can take some inspiration in modern warfare technology: anti-air missiles with active radar tracking not only meassure the distance from the target but also it's velocity via doppler-shift of the return signals frequency. Spoofing this by sending back a wrong frequency signal is actually a real thing.
Researching electronic warfare can provide you with some inspiration, I think.
A lot of modern warfare is marked by a disproportion of armor to firepower. That's why they don't try to build bigger and bigger units, but units which have better and better conceilment or can obstruct targetting.
On a funny little sidenote, in the early second half of the 19th century in naval warfare it looked exactly the other way around, due to the possibility to build the first ships armored with Iron instead of wood. What happened? They brought back naval rams, which had disappeared from (most) naval battlefields for a long time at this point.

"Espionage" requires a thing to spy on .. you can spy on workers / army in sc2 before you attack or harass (somewhat) ..
but is there in your game something gained by observing "x"?

I hope this helps and inspires you a bit.
