Turns out it must've been a one-time thing. I played the mission again and there were very, very few, in fact virtually no infested terrans compared to the bajillion last time. Anyway, I have to say, I am very impressed by this campaign, it is awesome so far. The only thing missing which would make it almost perfect is voice acting. Now I'm not saying you have to implement this anytime soon, but maybe if a few of your friends or something are over your house one day, you can ask them a little favor...
That's good to hear. I won't consider it a bug then. ;)
Voice acting could be nice, but there are some drawbacks. Not just the effort in making it good (which would be hard to do with Scandinavian accents), but also the time it takes and the amount of leeway that disappears. Case in point: If I want to go back and make a change now, I can just do that. It will only take a second. And believe me, I make a lot of changes. Every time someone mention something here, I go to the editor and try to fix it! I think I am a compulsive perfectionist (something you would agree with if you saw how much effort I've put into the smallest of details in these maps, such as making sure the frickin' pipes are perfectly placed!). The dialog is very delicate, because it's not just what's being spoken and how it is spoken, but also the art of timing. When there's no voice acting, a timing change is just a push of a button away. But when there is, you'd likely have to record it all over.
I don't think the Zelda games do voice acting yet, do they? Those games are pretty good still!
I think the implementation of voice acting is a bit of a deal breaker, in the sense that it's better to have nothing than something subpar. And the probability of subpar is too high.
Ok i palyed all missions without bugs and i can say that this campaign is really well maked on all aspects;Terraining, atmosphere, difficulty, story, characters, all is really good, there is noly some little fix to do...
Mission 10:Save SCVs with 2 hero is really a pain on the ass,for nothing fun:/,so i suggest you to make more time between the scvs waves and add an "arrow-way" that show you where are going the scv (like the one of the wol mission of medivacs that shows you where kerrigan is goiing, and add a skull on all scvs groups,so u can see more better where they are on their journey
Do you know what a long-ass time it takes to create those arrows? It is so paaaaainfully boring. I did use them for the third mission, but I might skip them this time.
It's supposed to be a bit tricky. I wanted to do give you some multi-tasking to do. :D I will admit even I haven't finished the mission with a "perfect score", though my focus was distracted by the need to see if everything worked as it should (let this hereby be known as Creator's Privilege, or "the privilege to excuse failure"). :)
Should I ever do more missions in some way, I'd try to expand upon that model: mini-games that deviate from typical RTS modules. I even have an idea of doing one mission Tower Defence-style (which I promise will turn out less arcade-like than it sounds!).
I also want to do a really intense boss fight, where you maybe pilot a modified Thor that moves faster and fires more missiles, going against a Loki or something. I'm not sure how it would work in practise though. I want it to be challenging, but programming how the Loki would move sounds hilariously difficult.
tried the 1.03 version of Mission 8, still crashes at 1 min and 4 seconds in. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place for the updated version, can you place a link?
I made it to 5:32 (remaining), after a bazillion tries. The mission is a lot more difficult than I remember, which is because the attack waves didn't function properly the last time. Now they do, but they're just absurdly overwhelming.
Yes. I've reached the end, and it's a pity the last mission is IMPOSSIBLE to beat. You should remove the "don't let 6 SCVs die" objective like Blizzard did with the Agria mission.
mission 8 is crazy,i won with half of the base destroyed and all scvs adn struvtures behind a wall of turrets :D,damned banshees destroyed my tanks ;p,there is the screenshot

Well, then you did better than me! I had half a factory! Yes, you read that correctly. I think the difficulty is where I want it to be then.
damn any progress yet on correcting that error or have you given up.
Well, it's hard to correct it when it doesn't trigger for me (which means I can't test it myself), but no, I have not given up. 1.04 is up now, you can try that. If it still doesn't work, it is probably the soundtrack. Go to the triggers, find the folder "=== CINEMATICS ===", then "Opening Cinematic". Find the action that says "Sound - Play Music CrimsonMoon08Main (Any Soundtrack Index) for (All players) (with cue Any Cue) and Do make default" and delete it.
You still haven't sent me the second mission, btw!
Would someone be willing to record a short video from the campaign and send it to me? I'd very much like to be featured on the front page, but there doesn't seem to be any good screen recorders for Mac, at least ones that doesn't lag like hell.
I don't know what part I'd like recorded. I guess a gameplay clip and a cinematic clip would be cool. Something that teases, though obviously nothing to spoilery. Suggestions and/or volunteers are greatly appreciated. I think I could do the editing and uploading myself.
EDIT: The final fight in mission 9 might be cool. It's easy to access too. Just skip the opening cinematic, type "wouldyoukindly", and it triggers by itself! Anyone up to it?
Mission 9 final scene where very cool indeed. Visually pleasing and exciting. In fact, the whole of mission 9 was very well executed. I've like those missions where you cooperate with a computer player, and the twist with them being hostile to you was nice.
You have very clever mission design and a professional terrain layout, this must have taken alot of work. May I ask how long it is since you started working on this campaign?
I have to admit that I used a cheat code during my second attempt. ;)
I think the basic idea came to me about a year ago. I started doing some missions, completing only one. Then I made some changes to the story, and started from scratch (I originally planned things to be somewhat different, and was planning on 5 missions at first) . I'm not entirely sure when I began with mission 1, but I distinctly remember making mission 3 in the summer of 2012. So in total, counting only what's playable, the whole thing took over half a year.
Hi EivindL. I'm gonna try your campaign. From the screenshots I can see you have great terraining skills, I hope I can create terrains thast are at least half as good for my own campaigns. How is the mission selection screen going? I wanted to make one too, too bad it wont work for published maps.

Didn't you hear I fixed that one? Scroll up to see the link.
EDIT: Scroll up from your post. Turns out I've created a new page.
I also simplified the explanation of the Cocoon part of mission 10 too, like you asked.
Oh, if someone actually finishes this: Don't spoil the ending for others, please! You can say what you feel, but don't share what actually happens.

Lol yeah I guess those accents would be cheesy. As for the timing issue, now I realize what Blizzard must have to go thru.

It is the right file. That's really odd.
EDIT: On another note: this mission is reeeeaallly difficult, if not impossible.
It didn't crash with me.
How long did you survive? Did you complete it?

I beat it! :D
I'm doing some work on mission 8, trying to make it a bit easier.

cool i will try that and report back. Second mission is still a few weeks from being done, and I'm making a few tweaks in the second as I go as well.
