Not to be confused with Legacy of Liberty, LotHoL is a trilogy campaign consisting of races based on Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, and its expansion pack, Kane's Wrath.
When I submit this to testers I want them to be fully aware of the mechanics of the game because I don't know how many people in the Mapster community have played Command & Conquer. It's a bit embarrassing if they're confused about something I could easily have explained, so I'm making this thread. I hope this thread also captivates people's attention little more, but at the same time, I hope this doesn't hijack anybody's focus on a specific map or campaign...
TITAN UNITS: This is the only thing that isn't a borrowed concept. The Nomad, Ba-Humbug, and Brotoss each have one Titan unit they can summon. The Titan unit is an extremely powerful unit that can use at least two abilities in combat. One ability is offensive, and the other is defensive. Titan units are listed below.
Brotoss - Devourer of Souls: Mind Control (Dark Archon mind control), Curse (strike a target with a dark blast, deals 200 dmg and weakens armor), Devour (kill friendly bio for energy)
Ba-Humbug - Eviscerator: Spawn Infested Terran (obvious), Rage (enter a rage and smack a target viciously for 300 dmg)
Nomad - La Robot de Muerte: Auto-Turret (obvious), La Muerte (strike targets from long distance for heavy damage in target area), Launch Drone (launches a flying drone that can shoot on the move and deal AOE damage)
Resource Collection: The Brotoss missions take place on Higher itself, where no natural Vespene Geysers exist. Therefore, all Vespene is obtained from dead units or scavenging. Vespene is used for special units and upgrades. Minerals are basic resource that trains all basic units except those that are summoned, and the Titan Units. They are typically found in high concentrations in wells or craters due to meteorite impact. The Ba-Humbug and Nomad campaigns take place on the moon of Higher, Chackuras, and transition to Higher. Natural Vespene Geysers exist on Chackuras.
Units and Buildings: Units and Buildings cost considerably more than normal, Units do not take supply, but buildings do. In C&C, units do not take up supplies either. Only buildings do. Therefore, it will be necessary to invest in supply-providing units or structures.
Defeat: If your Mobile Base/Grand Council/Ba-Humbug Crawler dies, you lose...

Hey people. I'm working on Mission 3, which is the first Nomad/human mission (it is a micro-only map). I apologize for the inconvenience of forgetting the dependency data for Mission 2.
Once again, that is up and ready for download. When you want to play Mission 2 and future missions, download the dependency mod file. Cut-and-paste it into your Mods folder. You can find the folder by going to Program Files > StarCraft II > Mods
I really enjoyed the first mission and I think that with some tweaks it can be a great introduction to this campaign and the Brotoss race.
The second mission needs adjustment in my opinion though. I think that since this is the player's first time playing as the Ba-Humbug race, that they are given too much to do. The first Brotoss mission was focused: it taught and introduced you to new units as the level progressed, whereas the Ba-Humbug mission throws a lot at the player in one mission.
Some suggestions for improving the 2nd mission:
Everything I discuss below deals with simplifying the mission overall.
Make it shorter and less difficult. Making it shorter will in turn reduce the difficulty.
Have only one base for the player to mine from. This will make the mission shorter.
Get rid of the random factions (have one faction for terran, one for protoss). Get rid of the random units like the Stone Zealots. Make the enemy more streamlined. Putting random units just confuses the player and makes the mission feel like more of a standalone map than part of a campaign.
I understand that you are trying to convey humor, but some of it comes off as unwarranted like the cussing. I don't mind cussing, but for me the tone feels strange. The first mission didn't strike me as comedic in nature, so the 2nd mission surprised me. Just be consistent.
I do really like the Manipulator unit and its abilities.
If I were to design this map, I would have it set up like this:
Start with a micro section, beginning with the player just having Niadra. You have to use just her to get past a small group of enemies.
You then start picking up (neutral, drop pods, whatever) additional Ba-Humbug units as you progress. You could have tips for each group of units you pick up.
Make sure you get the Manipulators in here somewhere and make the player use it's abilities. Have a tip for this! I think these units were the best part of the mission for me. I would give the player 3-4 Manipulators since they run out of energy very quickly and are very fragile.
The player then gets to the base where you get the hatchery. Player macros.
The objective changes to destroy the Protoss base. Have a single Protoss base that has to be destroyed. You don't need the Terrans here at all. Remember that this is the first mission and the player is focusing on learning the new race. They're not going to want to destroy a huge Terran and Protoss base as well.
I know this would mean changing a lot of things in Mission 2, but I promise you that you will be happier with the result. Even if it means that you have to remake it from scratch.

I'm giving the community a little something-something to keep busy with while more missions come out. The first Nomad mission has been released on the project page! The Ba-Humbug Mission 2 is coming back in the form of a small micro map, so I'll be working on that for some time before Mission 4 (Brotoss M2).

Mission 2 is coming soon and I plan to make it a longer, more drawn-out mission. It focuses on the Ba-Humbug race.
Missions follow the cycling order of Brotoss, Ba-Humbug, Nomad, Brotoss, Ba-Humbug, Nomad, etc...

I've decided Mission 3 will be a small defense map with spawned units. I should be done by middle or end of this week.

I wouldn't be too hard to remake it from scratch since I have all the data set up for this.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to take the map off Mapster while I work on this.

Hi, I was planning to do a review for your nomad but I am having trouble with the mods.
My projects : The Hammer of Dawn, Noir : Automata, Noir : Evolution, Noir : Ascension, Hammer of Dawn Revamp
Many awesome projects : Custom Campaign Initiative
Something for the community : A Small Letter of Thanks, SC2mapster Classic Skin - Alevice
Hmmm I'll fix that. That shouldn't be happening since I've combined them into one dependency...
