I'm here to ask you guys for feedback on my map. I've been working on this project going on 4 years back when it was referred to as Deadlands RPG: Valhalla and still much work to be done. I still have to add a final act(4) to the game and get a few more heroes in. Also I am aware that a lot of ability balancing needs to be done. I am currently adding in Rare items which are only found from drops (enemies, bases). But you can beat the game at the moment if you play thru acts 1-3. All heroes save automatically, theres currently over 360 items in the game and many bosses to defeat. The game consists of 36 missions that you must do to get to the end. Once I finish this map I may press forward and bring in a sequel to raise the level Cap. Also I have a private clan for this game, I would very much like to get a small group of people together and get to level 50(Last level) and try end-game farming for the currency for end-game gear and see how easy/hard it still is with maxed out heroes. Let me know If you wanna join the game and try stuff I'll try to be there as much as possible.

Dude this looks awesome!! I will try to play tonight!
Put some screen shots in this posting. The masses love them. I know you can click on the link, but we are lazy.
Since this has a campaign feel to it maybe we can put you up on the CCI page. Some more exposure. Also, contact Jayborino. I think he would love to do a playthrough of this.
Thanks mate! :) I look forward to seeing more people in it!. Last two days ive ran a few games from beginning to end with random people. We are already started to end-game grind! I really wanna get a few in a clan so we can run some serious games. The feedback is critical to me so I know high levels with end-game gear wont wreck the game so hard :) I'll be trying to snap a few current pics as I go. Hope to see anyone there!
Special thanks to: OnetwoSC with his masterful tutorial vids that I learned so much, and FFERPG from Warcraft 3 to inspire me to create an RPG in the StarCraft world.
Heres just a few screenshots I rounded up, most are from last year around july, ones from yesterday. :) I labeled them so you know whats going on. Hope I catch a few more screenshots to add! Thanks for viewing guys!
Recently removed UI Console frames to expand the vision of terrain some more. Special thanks to Zerghunter for support and suggestions. I might do more with customizing it a bit further to give it a better RPG feel.
Tried it... my biggest complaint is that there's "information overflow" from the get go. There are at least a dozen shops/upgrade places/other units i couldn't figure out all over the place. It's not very noob friendly so it's hard to get into. All I wanted to do is figure out how to heal (if that's even possible, I never figured it out).
Notice how when you play a Blizzard campaign, like HOTS for instance, you don't get Kerrigan with 16 abilities unlocked and 3 skill trees. They give you just 2 spells. You learn how to use them. Then you slowly tack on more intricate/diverse abilities as the storyline develops.
Definently some thoughts I need to wrap my head around a bit. I appreciate your suggestions and I will see if I can come up with a few ways of making it a more noob friendly map. Now that you made me think about it from a new person point of view I'll have to backtrack a tad and focus on ways to explain. :) I apologize for the trouble you had. There are tons of shops and items and also healing items for that matter. Ability wise maybe I need to take out the freedom to pick multiple abilities as you go and hide them all only giving you upgrades to the current ones you have and later attaining new ones as you grow stronger. I will see what I can do bud. I guess months and months of playing FFERPG on WC3 has become a thorn in my side for rpg map creation. That map inspired me greatly and it was a similar feel as to the whole "what the heck do I do now" aspect. xD
As per request I've started to work on making the game a bit easier to understand. I've put in this help menu to inform new players on the basics of the game. Hope this helps some.
Just recently fixed a problem with Loading different heroes. The game required you to click the Mercenary dealer and click your player number to return to select screen. This is no longer a need. All you gotta do is step on the portal and you will be automatically taken back to the hero select screen. Some people got confused by this so I decided to simplify it.
I really enjoyed playing this map. I played it with a few friends and we had a great time on doing so. I loved the terrain, I liked the idea of having seperate terrain sets for diferent areas of the map, which is something that in the few RPG's that I have played I did not encounter. I also find most RPG terrains tedious, and since much time on RPG's is put onto farming, I think that a good terrain is helpfull to keep the game atractive.
About gameplay, I liked the base defense style that you gave to the map. On the RPG's that I have played, its not exactly challenging (at least for me) as for most of them were just farming and when u did get attacked, you could defend yourself pretty easilly, but in here the attacks are more constant and threatening and you must keep an eye on your base(I did not play thru all acts).
You have much items. I'd suggest you to simplify it by removing some and buffing the remaining ones while making them more expensive to keep the balance on it. I was like hours staring at all the items to know what to buy.
The heroes are ok, but im very critic about this, and since I play some really fast paced MOBA's, you can choose not to care much about this line, some of the abilities of your heroes I did not find much use for. For me on the design of an hero, all the skills must be good for something and I did not find that in all heroes. But ofc as I said, I play those fast paced MOBAs where all abilities are strong, quick and usefull for teamfights etc (donĀ“t know if im explaining well in here).
The dificulty was just about fine for me and my friends and we did not have a hard time at all.
Yeah those 5 paragraphs are informative but they won't get read. Correcting this issue involves reducing the number of upgrades/abilities/shops/stuff everywhere at the beginning of the game. If you want to do it right, it won't be that easy.
Looking for some arcade players to check out my map. Let me know what you think. Lots has changed since it's early days as deadlands rpg. More to come! Any comments or ideas is appreciated! It has a forum some also for more in depth comments like bug reports. Thanks everyone!
6 New aura and buffs have been recently added. Still have a few more ability issues to take care of. Will be working on some balancing issues and bugs next. Hopefully will add a 4th player to the game soon and bring back ancient aberration class like it used to be.
Demonicus here, i've been gone a while and somehow lost my account during this, but i wanted to inform everyone that i am still working on this project and alot has been added in the recent years. I am going to try to finish this year hopefully. The battle link still works, if you get time check it out and let me know what you think. This is still up on America, Europe and Korean servers.
