This is a little trigger heavy map, and a project that's been on and off for a looong while due to school/work.
It's my little tribute to the games I grew up playing when I was little(the Playstation 1 games).
But please let me know what you guys think!
UPDATE : video showcasing the combat, recorded pre-patch.
It looks nice. Definetly had that FF feeling to it.
I would cut out the fading times though, since they seemed a bit long (its not like you are loading stuff).
Nothing bad to say about it really. If you just add a good plot and awesome combat it could become a huge hit (allthought might not be allowed to be in bnet)
Well, the music / sounds are from Final Fantasy 9 and obviously copyrighted, so it would get banned on Battle.net.
But, being a single-player map (I'm assuming), that doesn't really matter. People could just download it off a website and "test" it in the editor.
As for feedback on the design...well, the science-fiction assets of Starcraft 2 aren't exactly suitable for a quiet village town that you're trying to portray. I think your towns / setting would be better off being more like Final Fantasy 7's main city Midgar...but it's ultimately up to you, of course.
The ground mechanics seem to look fairly good. The UI could still use a little polishing, I think.

i think its time to shut up with the copryright thing, just do it
For a tech demo, it is nice, but it needs much more polishing to really be a final fantasy game. The models, the dialogs, everything still screams starcraft ;) (the curse of every themed map, I guess).

I always wonder why everything must end in either "Craft" or "Wars" :p.

Maybe we should go for "Aeon of Strifecraft Wars"
Warscraft Craft Wars.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Zergling Blood : starcraft://map/1/35684
Game of Thrones : starcraft://map/1/189756
Tacticraft : starcraft://map/1/223625
Awesome Tech Demo, really hits the mark i think. seriously makes me wish i had a copy to play with, i love tweaking things that are that cool. who knows what may be possible if they enable map linking as well.
Towns:

Looks interesting. Have you created turn based battle system yet?
I remember some video that introduced battle system similiar to Final Fantasy I just can't remember name right now.
Yes I have :) I'll be sure to post a video of the battle system when I have time, as well as the world map and the first dungeon.
one of the best FF UI i ever see!!!
wow
@egodbout: Go
i suggest you to give me your map and will do magic with your UI :D

Not talking about something doesn't make it disappear, I'm afraid.
Wow!!!!
the zone transitions are too slow :S
Looks amazing. Eager to see the combat.
Don't worry about the copyright. Mafia has tonnes of copyrighted music in it and it's still there.
I always wonder why everything must end in either "Craft" or "Wars" :p.

very very true, also makes me wish i knew triggers and had any programing skill at all.
The Ui you showed is fluent and very nice... Keep up with the work
The pause before the loading :O. Did you actually do that! Omg....
Btw copyright stuff, you could just find someone to synth you up some similar sounds and tunes?
