Well, I feel like this map is finally polished enough to tell the world about it. A lot of people have already played previous versions of the map on Bnet, but v6 is so drastically different that it is worth replaying. Many more strategic elements have been brought into the mix.
You now pick one of 4 races at the beginning of the map. each race has very specific strengths and weaknesses:
Organic towers have bonus damage vs. Biological and Massive enemies. They have slow speed, short range and average DPS but all Organic towers do splash damage. Most Organic towers only hit ground targets. All Organic Towers receive a free 3% bonus speed , tracking speed, damage and detector upgrade.
Energy towers have bonus damage vs. Psionic and Robotic enemies. They have average speed and range and high DPS. Most towers only can target ground units. All Energy Towers receive a free 10% bonus speed upgrade.
Munitions towers have bonus damage vs. Armored and Air enemies. They have fast speed, long range but low DPS. They are typically much cheaper than other towers. All munitions towers can hit ground and air targets. All Munitions Towers receive a free 10% bonus damage upgrade.
Hybrid builders can build Organic, Munitions and Energy Towers, but they are unable to build Tier 5 towers and Ultra-Unique Towers. They also do not receive bonus damage abilities.
In addition there is a "rock / paper / scissors" wave armor types now.:
Biological and Massive enemies regenerate HP quickly. This regeneration can be stopped by Organic weapons. Psionic and Robotic enemies regenerate Shields quickly. This regeneration can be stopped by Energy weapons. Armored and Air enemies reduce all incoming damage by 25% unless the weapon bypasses armor. Munitions towers can bypass the armor of these enemies.
Other changes from previous vers:
East and West sides of the map now look very different
New regen / armor system in place. Each tower race (and specific towers) now have strengths and weaknesses.
Bosses are now typed (except first boss) Lvl 20 boss is Massive / Organic, Lvl 30 boss is Flying / Armored / Lvl 40 boss is Psionic and Robotic.
New "Primary Command" structure with several upgrades and team vs team abilities
3 New T5 towers, one for each race.
You may now build whenever there aren't enemies near your towers.
Wave x9 switched from "no weakness" to a unique wave for each level.
All t5 Towers are now 2x2 placement
You now receive a bonus when the other team is nuked based on the cost of the tower targeted. This bonus is negated if the other team uses invulnerability before the nuke hits (and its a T5 tower)
Several graphics / sound optimizations.
3 new Tier 0 towers
Waves now have unique abilities after level 20
Unique and Ultra-Unique towers bugs removed.
Prices for several items reduced
munitions t4 towers do splash damage
munitions t3 towers now have a chance to crit

I really love Retribution TD. I think its best map aside Catalyst map.
Only downfall of RTD, hh, is that has almost no replayability. I will be checking this version, and hope you will take a look more deeper into that part.
Hey, I enjoyed the 5th version very much, played it over over and a couple times. The new v6 looks very interesting, BUT...
first of all, it LAGS totally. I have no idea why, but its just much much worse than the previous version, especially in higher levels. My graphics is turned low, though my PC should be overpowered for this :D..
second - banelings, WTF? i dont really get it, there is no explanation whatsoever. Do they just spawn and explode randomly? I never really saw them because of the lags, but first time they sent it at me, i lost two T4 towers, which was an instant gg... the cheap 1 mineral tower didnt help I think, cant really tell because I never see the banelings come coz of the lagging xD..
The special units abilities are very cool, just seems a bit too random to me, if you get unlucky, you can just lose the game quickly. Wouldnt be so bad if there were always 4 players on the team, but almost always someone disconnects...
alright then, looks quite nice but still needs some improvements I guess, most importantly the lagging and the OP banelings, which just suck.. Oh and I think the game ends after the other team is wiped out, which is annoying - mostly we always continued and tried to pull off all the 50 levels, now we dont have the choice. GL HF, karolans signing out ;D
The continue dialog pops up just like before, you may continue to play after the other side is defeated. Also, a lot of small adjustments have been made to banelings since release.

Alright we just went through all 50 levels with a bunch of people, making fun of the game all the time, took over 2 hours.Seriously, what were you thinking? :D the game is absolutely UNPLAYABLE now due to the lagging, we got 0-2 FPS most of the time. The v5 was quite laggy too, especially during greed rounds, but this is incomparable and really no fun :(... And it has nothing to do with hardware. Have you actually ever played it?? xD Either fix that quickly or give us back the old version, please! ;)
before completely trashing a game that I have spent so much time on, have you done any checking into why this is happening? First of all, we have over 1000 games an hour on EU and US servers and this is the first I've heard of it. Second, did you try playing solo to see if one of the people you were playing with maybe had their sounds / graphics turned up too high? Remember, bnet slows the game down tot he slowest connection. Third, this game seems to suffer the most from multiple sound lag, turning your simultaneous sounds down to 20 or so seems to fix it.
I've loved this map since the first time I played it. I've really played it ALOT, and never experienced any lag problems.
I do suck at it though. ;-;

:) alrighty, gone through the 50 levels again with another guys. it was 4v2 most of the time. tried the sound settings, made everyone to set it to about 20 as you said. it helped a bunch i think, still very laggy though, don't know what else to do. i never had a game without lagging, all the other players i ask have the same experience. so maybe its just our EU servers :(... anyway the new stuff is great, so here just a few ideas:
1) "Send in the next wave" button - you can't even imagine how great that would be, and not only for soloing. Just if all players click the button, the next comes immediately. The waiting in between some of the rounds can really be annoying, especially when there are only two people left or something, nothing really happens... is that possible?
2) banelings, changelings and stuff - other team started harassing us with those things, so i just use it against them and they got owned. so alright, its a new interesting element and it can be fun. but i still find it annoying though, sorry :D.
3) ever thought about the possibility of moving the towers? maybe just swapping for some amount of minerals or something like that, would be quite helpful sometimes, also for newer players who dont position some towers good enough the first time, repositioning would maybe hold them in the game longer ;D
4) the 49th wave - omfg i hate it, cost me about 2k last time :D..
5) blinking dogs - WTF?...
6) adding some short descriptions of different towers and enemies would be nice, not numbers, just how it works... now the "help" section is kinda empty :)
7) the starting screen where you choose race - it would be more useful if you would see what the other people in your team picked - in one game we were 3 munitions, gets a bit boring... and second, you should see at which location you spawn...
Hi, I am a big fan of the Retribution map! The version 6 map is also very good with all the new tweaks, however, The blinking dogs are slightly annoying, the lag again is very annoying, I dont know if there is anything you could do to try increase the FPS rate, or send a warning message at the start of the game telling all players to lower thier settings? Also, at wave 45 (green wave) we held off the wave for some time, then at the end when we finally leaked, I got nuked by the tower. The other team had used thier nuke percenatage power, but to get nuked at the end of a green round? Is that right? If so, poor choice. Any how, other than these points, this new version is most enjoyable. Please do try fix the nuke problem as it was most annoying! Many thanks.
Please make a vote to Skip Greed and change the tint during greed mode, It makes the map soo laggy and extremely ugly.
Aswell as the Mechanic Super tower (-33% Shields) Is quite OP Versus bosses. Nullifying their shield and draining thir max hp by half during the start.
What I found to be the biggest problem was when I play on the bottom it's VERY boring for most of the game. Even if we are only two players, there is no action for the first 10-20 rounds.
There should be something to do for the bottom player even from the start.
Considering how well made the map is generally, I don't think you need my suggestions :)
hey DeathStair, thats easy! The best thing to do is that you go build to the middle, its much more fun when two people build in one maze. When the mode is top spawns and I am in middle, I always ask the guy at bottom if he wants to come middle.. And if I play bottom, I just go up ;). Of course its game over if the other guy leaves during the game, but hey, its worth the risk :D
It's a great map. I enjoy it thoroughly and play it semi-commonly. However, I think this modding thing is going to your head man. Game designer/programmer? Quality assurance? EU representative? That's what you need when you get a full game going. Doesn't work with mods.

Retribution TD and Catalyst. Tho both have one different problem I stumbled on.
I think you should somehow present this map as PvP map. Or Team vs Team map, not just simple Survivor TD map as most of people see it as. like myself.
