It was named split td before, but I renamed to Random TD as it suited better.
Its gaining popularity again on the EU server. Its uploaded on NA too.
Its a FFA mazing TD where almost everything is randomized and you can win by killing 100 more lings than anybody else.
I am looking for creative feedback on polishing and possible new ideas.
(As it is published more than a year ago, I heard many ideas...)
Adding a tutorial to solo play would be a nice addition. Also, you should make some limits to the randomness. The first time i played the map, start, waypoint and exit was very close to eachother, and I died in one of the first waves. Other than that, it's a very nice map, and I love the concept of the random generated buff areas.
@ScorpSCII: Go
yeah in solo it can be sometimes to random, but in multi that is considered exotic and will just make the game more interesting.
I am trying to balance solo wave hp according the randomness, but its far from perfect. I focus on Multi play as thats what for this map is built.
I was thinking lot about tutorial but I cant think way to make it nice and helpful. Also F12 contains many information.
I like the concept, it seems unique for me. I like that the map generates instead of being preterrained. It's modern approach - to create a new terrain every game.
Also, I like that the game is complicated. Let's say "S" is a measure of success a player has at a map. S=1 means player always win. S = 0 means player always lose. S depends on "t" - time he spent playing the map. Most of maps allow a player to find successful strategies gradually, like:
S = (1 - 1/(1 + t))
but I'd say, that on your map it's like:
S = (0.1 - 0.1/(1 + t)) until you find a winning strategy, and
S = 0.9 + (0.1 - 0.1/(1 + t)) after you found a winning strategy
Because all those upgrades doesn't seem to affect a winningness of a strategy, and the only way to start playing good is to wind a proper method of maze constructing.
So, my advice is to increase the "how much upgrades affect damage you deal to the wave". Maybe add some abilities for towers, which they apply once a wave, so it will be more important to have proper upgrades, while maze won't mean so much anymore.
After I have played a few more games, I must say 3 more things:
1. It's addictive as hell.
2. This mod is good for smart ppl, because here you need to use brains, mostly spatial imagination to create longer mazes and force creeps to pass them maximum times. It feels like playing chess a bit.
3. Once I had an income like 350+50-350. Where the hell this "-350" came from? It was like this 3 waves in a row. I lost because of this. Is it a bug or something intentional?

Yup, my favorite TD For a reason. It's nothing fancy, but the repeat value of gameplay is great.
It's cool. But, it took 3 games to get used to again. I played this b4 a while ago. It was and still is the hardest TD I've played in my life. Add some difficulty levels for single player? I always die on first wave.
