My games are all giving me problems all of a sudden. I can't load the editor without the monitor going to sleep. I can't play my games without the monitor going to sleep. But I can use the internet without the monitor going to sleep. Weird huh? I didn't mess with anything either. I'm so bored and don't know how to fix it :( I have an 18" 900p Compaq monitor that has never caused a problem until this week. The computer isn't even on long enough for it to overheat and the only way to get it back is to turn the machine completely off and return everything on. I am a mix of bored and frustrated. Yes I'm up early, but it's already 9AM here. I have tried o use a different monitor and the same problems happens with it.
Okay well. First of all it doesn't have anything to do with your monitor. So basically what happens is when you open the editor your computer goes to sleep. Is there anything that could have caused this... like messing with the MPQs? (Thats how I broke my game) Can you run starcraft, just not the editor? If the problem is only with the editor try running the starcraft repair tool.
the problem also exists with a game called World of Tanks. That's actually how I first noticed it. It isn't just SC2 that has a problem and no, I did not mess with anything.
Awesome, then you most likely have some faulty hardware. He might be on the right track with checking the graphics card if you "sleep" whenever you do something graphics intensive. Remember, Google is your friend.
Hmm well I had it for months before now and it only broke right now? It's not like a machine can just break all of a sudden with no reason right? Well nobody said anything like that can't happen, it's just weird.
Those things are made of electronic elements, such as condensators, resistors and etc... Which are fragile, I might add. Ask your friends to change the vgraphics card. If the problem disappears, then its video.

Oooh, my friend, welcome to the wonderful world of computers. Yet, machines can break all of a sudden with no reason and yes, they will. I don't think I've owned a piece of hardware yet that didn't randomly break down overnight or such. o3210 is right, you've got faulty hardware - my bet is on the video card, that's always a major cause of problems.

Whats your video card? It may be not powerfull enough to handle the drawing with the highest resolution. (my friend had that kind of problem)
