I was looking for a game Mozared mentioned. Some old school game called dust. What I found was something all of you terrainers might enjoy. Sorry I don't know how to put youtube videos up right here.
I pre-orderd that game, it was to be released on 27th of July, and I was like: ''Oh yeah that game is coming out tommorow'', going to the site seeing that it is delayed until 15th of August, FU!
I remember building a lake and then a dam when I went to the beach as a kid. Then I would break the damn and destroy my castle. The beginning where she breaks away some sand made me think of that.
apparently a "God Game" is a game where humans have some sort of control over their environment. The people kinda look like an African tribe. You can physically shape their world to see what happens. I don't know if there will be missions or a point to doing what you do though. It looks like it would be good for awhile but it won't have crazy high re-playability if all you do is make cliffs and stuff.
I want to know how they do water and erosion like that... figuring that out would be well worth however much it costs. Buying it... as soon as I figure out where.
As a little note - if you're referring to what I was talking about in that thread of yours in the terraining forums - that was DE_Dust, which is a counterstrike map, not a game.

"God Game" refers to the world-shaping aspect of the game, simple as that. Based on the video it's no different from any other editor, side for the fact that you alter the world during the gameplay.
In the sense that it's DLC in Xbox Live, I'm guessing. And it's nothing like Unity. You may as well compare it to any game engine with a world editor for your argument.

Thank you adjutant. I appreciate the vid fix :) Ubisoft and Crytex are the highest technology game makers by far.

This looks pretty cool though. I'd play that.
I believe it's an arcade and PC game as I saw an ad for it on my 360 last night while playing some ME2.
Sort of reminded me of the unity engine ().

An "arcade" game huh? In what sense? :P

Wasn't by any means an argument. It was simply I, informing you all about an irrelevant association of mine. No particular weight on validity.
That clarified, I do see your point. I just couldn't admit to that without a rebuttal ;)
Looks interesting for sure. Am I going to pay 15 bucks for it? Probably not.
