Did anyone see this film? I went and saw it yesterday and it was pretty dang amazing. I thought Prince Caspian was pretty bland and missing something, so I wasn't expecting much out of this one, but man, I think I have seen one of the most epic films in history.
For those of you that don't know what it is:
Disney is deciding to recreate the books C.S Lewis wrote, "The Chronicles of Narnia" into a film format. Its remarkably close to the books, as close as you can get I'd say. Anyway, some of you should go see it. I'd really suggest it, even if it was just to see the stunning effects. :)
It's funny, literally *everyone* I speak about the Chronicles of Narnia movies has a completely different opinion about them. For me, I liked Prince Caspian most - the first one seemed to be a bit of a family-children movie, while Prince Caspian showed a bit of a darker side while still keeping the gore out and keeping it watchable for kids. I very much liked the way that one was approached. The Dawn Treader I somewhat liked, but I disliked the lack of attention for some of the sub-plots and as someone who hasn't read the books, a lot of things didn't make a lot of sense to me. I felt like if I had read the books, those things would have be being the artsy complainer waving his walking stick about how the movies removed the most crucial parts of the story.
All in all I found all three movies enjoyable, though - it's just that I'd give Caspian a 7, the original a 6, and the Dawn Treader a 6.5.
To me, I really thought the first movie was great for introducing people to the world and characters. The second movie seemed like it was just thrown out there so they could introduce Prince Caspian and the 7 lords in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
I'm not trying to change your mind or anything, just throwing out my opinions. :)
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe - 8 out of 10
