Whats up with so many mapsters using some variation of Ed Bighead (from the cartoon Rocko's Modern Life) as their avatar? Probably seen like 10+ people doing it. Is this some sort of inside joke? Mozared, looking at you.
first it was mozared and then like two years ago we all changed to a variation of mozareds avatar. it got out of xontrol. i think it was his anniversary on the site or it was organic. lotta fun. i think you can find a thread
But yeah, what Hockleberry said. I've used this avatar for ages, and then suddenly on a random day everybody started making alternate versions and using them and god knows what. At one point half the forum was walking around with it. I have absolutely no idea how or why that happened, but it did. That's pretty much all there is to it, I think.
ps: if i may venture a guess .. it is the fact that people joining the thread one by one to view made their own variation / changed their avatar picture and then posted in the thread trolling (yet paying respect to it by changing their own avatar to do it)
the first variation was stunningly simple and effective!

best was aliens from space version
mine was voted creepiest (but then what do you expect?) :D
the real special (and yet sad) thing .. is that to read the thread properly you have togo back in time to have the avatars one by one flourish .. now it makes less sense :)
