I've attempted to give a High Templar duplicate hero a version of the Immortal's Phase Disrupters, but the firing animation isn't playing (though an explosion animation at the target is, but only sometimes). I've looked through several topics and tried implementing some of the solutions (adding Events for WeaponStart and such, changing the attachment point), but none affected anything.
High templar by default doesnt have an Attack Actor since he has no Attack. You will have to create one for him. Or duplicate Immortal Attack and rename it and give it to the High Templar.
the explosion animation displays only sometimes because your effects arent set to 100% and depending on the size of the target and how units tend to spray their shots randomly at it, someitmes it winds up partially inside the model you're attempting to kill.
I don't think the high templar actually has an attack animation, but you could set it to play the spell cast animation instead. I believe this woudl be done through actor events but i coudl be wrong.
At the very top when your selecting the Attack Actor, there is a Attack Effect, Launch Effect and Impact Effect. Just make sure to link it up to your weapon.
You will prolly only use the Attack Effect Field, since Launch is used for shooting missiles and Impact is used when a Missile Hits a Target.
Although im still pretty new to Actors so i might not be 100% right.

Look into the Attack Actors.

I actually did duplicate the Immortal Attack, but how do I give it to the unit in question?

Hmm. So that's all? Unfortunately, that's the way I had it set up already, and I know it doesn't work.
AFAIC, Hig Templar Hero can attack. So you could also reference that.
