Under the different ally setting, there is one listed as Share Vision, Control and Resources...does anyone know if there is a way to share resources without sharing control?
Hmm you could do a trigger, that changes the amount of Minerals (or Vespine) of Player 1 everytime Player 2 buys something to the value of Player2 Minerals (or with a periodic event, every 0.1 sec...), and a second trigger with Change ress P2 to ress P1
I've spent several hours trying to figure out how to solve this issue efficiently until I've got to this workaround. It might be helpful for somebody...
I've created a player that doesn't have units, and shares control and resources with all the sharing resources players.
Then I've made a periodic trigger where the players resources are set to 0 and given to the new player. I've also hidden the resources tab and made a custom dialog that would show the sum of all player minerals/gas and the current player supply to each player.
I'm adding a sample map to make this more clear.
NOTE: I'm still struggling to make the repair ability work. I'm currently solving it with a harcoded trigger.

Found a work around, thanks for the suggestion though.
I know this is old. But maybe someone else can answer the OP question? (And yes Southpaw444, you are hated for not posting your work-around :P)
how about a simple dialog like in multiplayer?
