I've been looking and looking, but I cannot find where this value is saved on the ability. I want to use it as an upgrade system for something and it just won't work! Would be awesome if someone could find the amount, or even the ability to merge two completely different units into something even more awesome.
Its has to be editable. I searched with no luck, but I did notice that none of the units related to merging use the model ArchonMerge... As far as I can tell it either magically knows to use ArchonMerge, or you can modify it somewhere.
After looking around in the editor my guess is that MasterDinaDan is right and it is probably hard coded in there. Maybe use triggers or something instead? I'm not sure what else to say, so good luck with it.

I'm not sure it's possible. It seems like the Merge ability type is "hardwired" to take two units.
