I like my own map so I figured here should be thread related to it. www.revolutionalarts.com has wiki for list of cards etc.
I have played more than hundred matches of that map in battle.net. I could say that I have became quite good in it. Also battle.net players has found nice tactics in it like four zergling cards and shields card.
Those who has no idea what map is, it is about getting minerals over time to draw cards automatically and gain vespene over time to use them.
Teams are automatically balanced to make matches fair 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3. It has some cards like Nuke what really can't be balanced without scaling cost based to amount of targets it nukes.
I actually ended up playing this map tonight (me and a pall were trying random stuff), and while there's more than enough room for improvement (more cards, more interesting terrain, an additional feature rather than just pure unit spawning), it is some pretty cool stuff. The concept is really simple and fun and it it overall a really entertaining map.
On another note, the automatic team balancing is alright, but could be improved upon. When I'm playing with my friend I'd like to be on his team. Because however the automatic balancing system works, we consistantly got pitted against eachother. We played the map 6 or 7 times and only got together once or twice.
First of all I have to say: this map is really fun to play!
We play it every night with some friends and enjoy that this map is active, getting advancements in a fast pace und has nearly no bugs.
+ Quite Unique Gameplay (for Sc2)
+ nearly no bugs
+ nice tactics possible
+ teamplay required
+ nice graphics (cards)
+ a not so spammy castle style map
+ the "OMG nuke! i hate you!" factor
You guys really have to try it out.
There are a few points i would like to see to make this map even more better:
Possibility to click on unit and see stats somewhere on UI
Possibility to join with friend and be on the same team. Its really frustrating.
Quick Team information buttons / hotkeys (I got Nuke ready! Need Nuke! Wait with units! Anti Air!)
Tune up the map... a bit more floor design (not to overwhelming) and some effects / doodads here and there. Polish it!
There is a new version up with an upgrade system for units and a third ressource (Terrazin). You can boost atackdanage, health points or Movement speed. I played 3 games so far with the new system, i think its quite nice. Ok, it adds something i call the "stressfactor" to the game, what not everybody will like, but also opens a whole new bunch of tactical possibilities.
Becaus of the new upgrade system, the rare cards have become a lot less powerfull in my opinion, and you can really pull of soime wicked combos (Immortal with elite training and improved health Oo).
Give it a try folks! I personally like it.
