I would like to hire a terrainer but I was curious....
I don't have a lot of money. With no job at this point and only a little money saved up, I would really prefer a free terrainer. However, since I want professional results, I realize that it's unlikely I'll find anyone soon.
The biggest problem is I work best once the terraining is done as I know under exactly what constraints I can code and/or work within, but I am just terribad at terraining. So much so any terraining work I do just doesn't feel adequate as I feel I will be doing extensive work on the terrain which means the constraints that I would be working within would change and that could change what features I can make available in the game.
Now that I've gotten the back-story out of the way, here's what I need/have to offer:
The map I am currently working in is 80x72. It is a TD map and many if not all the units will be scaled to approximately %50 or less of their original sizes to work within the boundaries of a small map while still making it large enough for realistic game play.
Due to the scale of the game, terrain work (in moderation) is allowed in the playable field, whereas the whole outskirts of the map need to be filled in some way or another just to keep the map looking clean and/or cool. And not as if there would be "somewhere else to go" as, obviously, there will not be.
I have no more than $25 to spend on the map in total, I'd realistically like to spend no more than $10 on the terraining to have a little left over in case I need to hand out prizes or need more terraining work done in the future. Again, I need it as professional as I can get for the amount of money I offer.
This game will be free-to-play (obviously) with perhaps a kickstarter standalone application depending upon it's success in the SC2 community. All code will likely be translated to libraries later but the map itself will remain as my own.
You will be allowed to keep the map after completion for your own, personal use. I do ask that unless this is done for free that you do not make any other games using the terrain from this map as a template.
What can I expect for this little an amount of money? The map is small, but I've seen people who are freaking amazing spend hours on patches of terrain about 1/10th the total size of my current map, which I imagine equates to larger dollar signs.
If there is anyone willing to work for free, please PM/attach to a comment a picture or two of any recent works of yours. Assets work as well. Try not to take offense, I just don't want to pick someone with whom I might be unsatisfied with in the future and have to scrap the map or keep looking.
Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to respond.
Realistically $10 should cover the costs of the terrain for that size, no problem. With a map that small why can't you do it yourself? Terrain editor is actually really easy to learn, it's just making things look right the hard part which I am bad at.

The time spent really depends on how much detail you are willing to add, and obviously it's not about learning the terrain tools, but using them artistically.
Anyways, how much of the map have you done so far? Whats your experience with the editor in general? What maps have you done before?
I've just come back to sc2 and mapping so looking for some warmup work and might work for free, depending on the workload.
