for an epic campaign made in GE entirely, like the actual sc2 campaign was. storyline will take place in the starcraft 2 universe, but will be unrelated to the overall plotline. some of the things that will be included in the campaign would include :
an in between missions menu with upgrades perhaps and research
a nonlinear mission system
a few decent cinematics, obviously not the quality of those in the campaign but engaging nonetheless
a handful of custom models, nothing overboard but enough to reinforce the campaigns environment
perhaps some voice acting if we're just feeling badass

personally, I am good with the trigger editor but prefer making terrains and I've recently learned to make and use custom models
also, most of the organization and planning will be done primarily in irc, optimally, so if you want to join up I suggest using sc2mapsters irc

Actually, I think I'm interested. I had the same plan for a 2-player co-op campaign, and I still want to do that, but I'd definitely think I can use this as a learning experience. And it'll just be fun working on a kick ass team.
If you'll have me, I can take care of pretty much all your terraining needs. Got experience with the whole deal on it, up to and including making terrain as beautiful but lightweight as possible. Check my tutorial for links to my work, if you want to see some.
Edit: I could also do some of the easier triggerwork, if needed.
bump, me and mozared have developed a pretty good backstory for the entire thing but i'm not sure I want to divulge what we have so far. however, if you are interested in the project, i'd be happy to share it with you. i'm fairly pleased with what we came up with :P

Still in the learning progress in the editor, but I'm quite experienced with the WC3 editor, so I don't think it will be that much of a problem.
I'm interested in the team. I would love to work on a campaign, and I think a non-SC plot is the way to go. I am decent with triggers and terraining, but I haven't played with the new data editor much.
btw is MindWorX working on this? I believe I mapped with him on WC3 a bit.
I am pretty new to terraining and arent used to the SC2 editor just yet, but i can help otherwise with Storyline and gameplay design and similar suggestions.

as for the 10 mb limit, i believe that means we simply won't be able to publish this on bnet or at least have to publish it in chunks, which is fine with me. and we have decided that the storyline will be at least within the starcraft universe, though likely not related to the plot
Many people have been wondering if it's possible with a 10 mb limit, but it is actually pretty easy we will make it the same way as Blizzard made theirs which involves loading new maps and then accessing the bank from the old one. I've already gotten this to work. Also for all of the custom models we will put in a mod since they have a max of 20 mb.
I agree that this won't be a multiplayer map since in order to switch maps the next map has to be downloaded and in your maps folder. I'm pretty sure we couldn't make it work.
Of course I'm always interested in a good project. Right now I'm getting up to speed with the new editor, but once I do I'm willing to help as a scripter/programmer and QA testing.
attention members of the team thus far: if you read this, START BRAINSTORMING! we really need some solid groundwork as far as concept work goes (character bios, abilities, specialties, mission themes) before work can really begin to get underway, so get creative! please pm me with all ideas you may come up with, and if you've contacted me but I've yet to tell you the general plotline then please request that I do so so you too can contribute to the framework of our project! remember, the more ideas put forward, the better the storyline and such will be. so get to thinking!

hey guys theres two more positions we could really use, a good data editor, doesn't neccesarily have to be amazing but we want him to do the bulk of the data editing. And an artist interested in doing some ui buttons and stuff.

Is this even possible with a 10MB limit? Especially since you want a SC-unrelated story.
