Hey everybody, Team Heroes and Empires is currently looking for a somewhat experienced data editor. We have the majority of triggers done and the terrain is coming along nicely.

I will try and get some footage up of what we currently have once I can figure out how to compress my video files so they aren't 6GB+.
Heros, buidlings and abilities are easy. Is if you want unique animations and models that's the hard part. What are you looking for?
Well it's mainly heroes and buildings we need. We won't need any modelling for version 1, but we are thinking of getting custom models done for the map at some point. Quick description of the map:
Heroes and empires is a map where you can choose between a hero and an empire. Heroes are your basic DOTA/ Diablo mix of heroes. Camera will be top down, but may be changeable. You can buy items etc and basically level up and kill mobs. You can also be hired by an empire for exp and money bonuses, as well as special quests if we decide to add any. An empire is pretty much normal SC2, but with custom stuff. For instance there are 4 resources: Gold (minerals), wood (vespene), food (terrazine) and population (a custom value based on attributes). To get gold you get it from taxes. to get wood you get workers to harvest it from mineral patches that give vespene and have a tree model. To get food you make a farm and it is automatically generated. When you have no food your people start dying. To gain population you build houses that get +1 population a second, which is then calculated into a variable. There will be a few 'ages' (think ages from AoE) where you buy it and you then get different models for your buildings and workers etc and unlock better units and tech/ upgrades etc.
A lot of this would be upgrades, actor editing etc, with a lot of copy + pasting to get it working. As a trigger editor (and the only coder working on this map right now) if i did it, it would probably not turn out too good, which is why we are looking for a data editor to do this.
Another thing: The basics of the heroes/ items and empires is already ingame.
If you would like to work on this map, i'll package my triggers into a library so i can keep working on it and send you the map to work on.
Unfortunately Virtual Dub doesn't want to show me the codec list for compressing even though I have the codecs so I'm not quite sure what is wrong with it. I've tried compressing them in the few formats given and the quality turns out terrible.
It sounds like fun. I'll have to take a look at the map tonight. Are you all in EU and will that be a problem if I'm in the US?
Edit: Also, if you want to take a look at what I've done the projects are on my page. I've done a mini campaign with a few custom units, I've created a few maps for melee and the project I'm currently working on has completely custom units, abilities and buildings..custom save for the models of course.
Well i'm EU, Assassin is US and the terrainer is also US (although the terrain isn't added yet). And i've already had a look, seems quite good. Pretty much as long as you can make units, abilitys, buildings and upgrades you will be fine :). Also, do you have xfire?

I'm looking at this now and making up some heros with abilities. I'll PM you the map later so you can check it out.
