Last night I had a dream. Not just any dream, it was an incredibly detailed dream describing a map that seemed to be a hybrid of Warcraft 3 and Warcraft 1. When I woke up, I still remembered pretty much all the details and exactly what the map looked like. Taking a break from the usual 'terraining only' you've seen me do, I decided to map out my dream (a Starcraft version rather than a Warcraft one, though) and see what I end up with.
Now that I've just laid the basics out, my problem is that I'm not entirely sure what direction I want to take it. I've got the positions laid out, but haven't even the slightest idea how to turn this into a suitable 2-player co-op map. Let me sum up what I do know; refer to the attachment for it to make sense.
Player 1 (red) will take control of four outlying bases of which the eastern two are meant to be overrun so severely in the start of the game that it's impossible to hold them.
Player 2 (blue) will be either computer controlled or player 1's ally. He has one base but is supposed to be somewhat of a powerhouse from the start. It's more or less the main 'bastion of strength' in this area.
Player 3 (cyan) will perform a similar function to player 2. The upper base is supposed to be fairly strong and build up, while the lowerbase was more of a harbour in my dream.
Player 4 (purple) is the enemy Zerg. He attacks from three sides and while not specifically in control of a base, he has powerful attack waves spawning every so much time.
And that's basically where it ends. It can literally go in every direction from here. Player 1's ally could command a base or be supplied with units to reinforce player 1 on a timed basis. Player 1 can lose all his bases and might need to retreat into player 2 or player 3's territory. And I have absolutely no idea what the 'function' of player 2 and 3 is supposed to be.
Now what I am looking for, is basically anybody who is interested in helping me turn this 'idea of a map' into something suitable for play. If there's anybody who likes where this is going or really just feels like giving any kind of input, then shoot away, as I sure as hell don't know what I want past "turning this dream into a playable map".
Regardless, thanks for taking your time and reading through all this insane babbling of mine.
