Hey guys I'm in need of a good data editor, or maybe scratch that, I'm in need of someone that can find his way through most of the editor parts that I do not do well at which is probably everything :P
While I'm good with graphics, modeling and generally knowing how things "work" I don't really have the time to learn most of the things in the editor myself but what I really enjoy if proving awesome concepts and showing them to the people and maybe tell them how I did it or maybe not :P
Basically I have little to no interest in making maps. So if you thought this would be a map making team, guess what? Nope. It isn't. What we're going to be doing is thinking of crazy concepts and showing them to the people. In the past I've succesfully done things like mesh collisions which I'd want to further improve:
Just like the possibility of making entire dungeons and levels with them:
(Modeling by IskatuMesk)
Some other concepts like effects ON unit textures:
And generally just trying new stuff overall.
I can't be clear enough that we're not going to be making maps. We're going to think up of crazy shit and DO it. We'll have the help of custom models and animations to do such tests and finally we can just release the concepts to the public so they can be amazed and mindblown.
What I am looking for is for someone to be the data lead basically. Someone who can think up of solutions rather than see a problem but most importantly someone with the curiosity and interest enough in experimentation. Therefore your application MUST contain crazy things you have thought up yourself that you CANNOT do due to you facing a graphical limit of some sort.
What you'll get?
You'll get to be awesome. Period. The feeling of doing things first and before anyone :P and you could even get models for your own personal projects as I know that some people ARE interested in making maps :P
I already have a few concepts in mind that require assistance so I can already tell you we'll be working stuff regarding terrain objects, bridges, staircases and levels (more than 2 levels? Why not?) loops and more interesting stuff.
So go ahead show me what you've got, things you've done in the past and most importantly things you can only dream of. Do this via this topic or via PM.
This is some impressive stuff you've got there, I'd love to use the texture effect myself. Sadly I'm not an expert with the data editor, and I have some ideas but not specifically for StarCcraft 2, but I still wish you good luck. The more crazy stuff the better!
Yeah um, I was supposed to do it like literally years ago when I did it :P but I'm always like "not until I improve it!" but I need someone decent at data to make some obscure stuff with terrain objects kinda like when someone got a bridge working once with walking below and OVER the bridge was made possible.
Anyways haven't got many applications so I'll just slowly continue on my own then :P
This shall remain open, though, for anyone interested.
@xcorbo: Go
I like doing crazy shit.
I can join your team, if it will be fun. Also at least this way I would thank you for the planet model and textures you found for them.
I am not the best with data, but I am pretty good with triggers, however I mostly use the gui.
Also I like to make everything random, open and infinite.

intesting demos so far, I don't happen to a Data wiz either but hopefully you will find someone.
I'm curious on how the Mesh Collisions work, is there a tutorial somewhere?

News just in: xcorbo only maps while stoned.
That second video should be temple run :D
