Hello all, welcome to team war, AKA I need a good acronym still.
Let me introduce myself:
Country: USA, Age: 17, Editor skills: terrain
I'll tell you right now, I am a make things look pretty guy and only a make things look pretty guy. I'm not a make things work well guy. I need people who know how to make things work well. I can handle the looks myself. I am also not sure what the editor is capable of. This is why the gameplay will be reevaluated when I get interested mapsters.
Gameplay: you start off with a basic military unit such as a marine. As you gain enemy kills your skills increase and you become more effective. Eventually you can choose your class of unit and become a specialist. Once you are a specialist, you have highly skilled abilities and things you are not so good at. Here is a mockup of the classes.
Marine - starter unit, decent at everything, good at nothing
Medic - good healer, terrible fighter
heavy specialist (marauder)- great anti-armor unit, bad at facing lighter units
light specialist (firebat)- kills marines with no mercy, short range specialist
sniper (ghost)- range specialist
assassin (reaper)- killing specialist
spy (spectre) - cloaked, disabling specialist
There will also be uncontrolable units engaged in a bloody street war throughout the map for each team of players.
I will post a few screenshots below of the map as it is in it's current state. I hope to enlarge it eventually. Feel free to PM me or post something right here. With 1 or 2 people or more I'll make an official team to work on it. I hope you like the idea so far and feel free to give feedback on the concept or the terrain.
NOTE: This team is for people who want to have fun working on a map and don't expect to get compensated. Yes, I'm a slave driver but if you have fun, who cares?
ok since nobody cares I'll just not do it. I can't make it alone. Without your help the terrain you see is all that it will ever be, just a messed up city. I am getting pretty discouraged now :(
I can understand your frustration, but please keep in mind that your first post was created 5 hours ago as of writing this. Not all possible people who can help you are online all the time, so wait at least a few days to give it time.
Aside from that, I must admit that the map looks great! It really feels like a dirty, realistic battlefield.
I might be able to help you gameplay-wise. I'm a bit busy this month, but what you want doesn't sound too complicated. Send me a PM and I'l see what I can do.
well 5 hours ago of this thread yes. I made the other yesterday and I haven't gotten any responses there so I locked it. I understand that we all have lives too ;) Busy is fine if you can't work on it you can't work on it. I'll message you with more ideas when I'm ready. Thank you for a response. I have been hoping all day someone would look at it.
This actually looks easier than it is too. I haven't quite worked it out but I am thinking of a leveling system with hero banking and such as well as possibly character customization.
I can talk like a smart trigger guy, but I'm not one, lol. I added some possible spawn points for troops too.
