Due to recent questions and reminders about this project, i have decided to revive Stargate Galaxies.
Right now we have 3 team-members (Trigger/Data Editing) and we are looking for several more.
I will post a list of specializations we need in order to bring the project back on track - if you meet one of the requirements and would like to join the team, please either post here or send me an PM.
Anyway, I'd be willing to lend a hand in story writing. unfortunately, I haven't watched majority of the earlier seasons of SG-1, but know quite a lot about the stuff concering the Ori and what happens from there on (Or however its spelt, never actually saw it written anywhere and it was german television i watched SG-1 on), which reminds me that I need to download and watch SG1...
Watched as good as everything in SGA (There are maybe like 5 episodes that I didnt watch here and there, but I've got everything on my comp and will probably watch them soon) and watched every episode of SGU.
I think it'd be easiest if we/you went with something SGU related, cause that puts the story in a different galaxy and 3 years (at least. Could be a couple of thousand if Eli screwed up) ahead of the series, making it harder to conflict with lore and even makes space for some awesome space missions :)
I can also do part time data editing, working on my map heavily lately so I don't want to promise being able to meet deadlines and things like that, I'm just not good at keeping promises when it comes to work. Sounds pretty negative, but what I mean to say is that I want to be able to work at my own pace (which can be both really fast and really slow at times, depending on motivation). The reason I quit the AoS 2 team was because I had to meet deadlines when I wasn't motivated to work on the data editor and therefore felt as if I was slowing down the entire project, and I want to avoid that this time.
I can create some icons and loadingscreens. I'm not perfect at it, but good enough for certain things. Tell me what you need and I can tell you whether I can do it.
Well, i didn't thought that your reply needed another reply just yet Thats why i already counted you in as one of the 3 exisitng team-members already.
Lore-wise i'd say that at first i definitly would like to keep it anywhere in the SG1 timeline. Personally i love SGU and we can think about going there on some point, but a Stargate game without the epicness of Teal'c/O'Neill isn't a Stargate game ;).
But first things first anyways, we'd have to
1. Decide our game mechanics (last time we went with 3rd person but im not sure about that atm..)
2. Create the basic game system, having a working "Stargate" and things like that.
After that or while doing that we can discuss our timeline. (While thinking about it now SGU seems pretty awesome, continuing the story that probably never will be continued :o!)
Just sent you another PM, it's pretty damn huge, been writing it for about an hour, lol
I've got a short logical explanation in it for how it continues the SGU story WITH Teal'c, O'Neill, McKay, Ronon and all those others. Totally forgot about O'Neill, he HAS to come. He's just so awesome xD
I think sticking with the RTS way like sc2 would be good, with limitations like ammunition and supply (read the PM). It would make controlling an entire team a lot easier (and playing a stargate game with only 1 character is lame :p )
You already had a working stargate, so it shouldn't be too hard to recreate that. :)
I would like to help :]
I can do the terraining (or at least part of it), and toss in some story if you will need it.
I watched SG1 and SGA but stopped SGU at 1'st season half so it kinda sucks for me :D but i will try and catch up if needed.
On a side note - funny, how I tried to recreate Stargate in SC1 some time ago xd
Right now our plan is to continue the story of Stargate Universe and create a decent Singleplayer RPG out of it (until multiplayer mapchange is working)
Main priority:
Story Writers with knowledge of Stargate in general but focused on the SGU events.
3D Model Artists, able to import 3D models and assign them (probably able to create 3D models aswell)

We most likely wont work with most of the old content and kinda "start over".
List of needed specializations:
- Someone skilled in GFX things like Photoshop (creating icons, loadingscreens, etc..).
- 3D Modelers (we have G-Mod models of Stargate things).
- Story Writers (Stargate cracks - know the "lore" and be able to create an "alternate" timeline).
- Sound Editors (Weapon sounds, probably even synchronization of conversations).
- Terrainers (We need some awesome terrainers for different planets and interior like the Stargate Center and things like that).
If you have any questions about the project feel free to ask.
Interested people contact me via PM or just reply here in the thread.
Regards,
PatchOne

bump!
Has anyone considered asking the SG:EaW folks if they'd be willing to let you use their models to speed up the progress?
