People like these are rarely mad, they just really believe in their cause. Usually they're just a touch detached from reality but otherwise average stupid people without any proper insight or such.
Can't really understand what makes a guy, who seems like any other average wow-player to dress up as a cop and then start shooting people.
I read somewhere that WoW was just a coverup to explain his social absence for some months while building his "Homebase" and constructing bombs etc.
That guy wrote a book that has been put on the internet (by himself i guess, right before he did what he did) and contains very disturbing informations about his cause, his ideology and in the end even the planning phase of this tragedy.
This may sound weird, but to answer on Mozared´s post about the guy being mad, that guy is really intelligent (dont get me wrong, i am not gloryfing him or complimenting him, that's just what you can read out of that book) and did this while thinking he is doing the right thing for his "cause" or "ideology" - what obviously is terrifying and if there are more of this kind of people, and i am pretty sure there are, i really start being scared as shit.

That's what they keep saying about Hitler, about how he must've been smart to get in power like that and all, but I simply cannot believe that someone who, without any sort of proper evidence, seriously believes that jews and gypsies are 'of an inferior race' is actually intelligent. This guy likes to think he's intelligent, but he's not. Real advancement of society and people as a whole doesn't go through politics, and shooting eighty kids who support a specific political party is going to change fuck all in the long term. I dislike taking sides in most confrontations and won't join the "HOW COULD SOMETHING TERRIBLE LIKE THIS HAPPEN THE GUY IS A MANIAC!!!" bandwagon (which is not to say I condone the guys' actions), but I do not really believe this guy can be called 'intelligent'.
What is intelligence?
Maybe the guy has a quite high IQ. What does this say about his standpoints? Nothing.
Many people who fall under mainstream definitions of intelligence fall for ideologies that are just laughable from a critical point of view.
That is why I think that the human mind is too complex to be described with the terms intelligent or unintelligent, and that that word should rather just be used to describe the abilities of non-humans (may they be animals or artificial intelligences).
You can be a genius and at the same time still be nuts you know... He had resources, the intelligence to make his weapons, and the ability to use them. He is probably one of those angry little dudes with the massive chip on their shoulder that want to hurt people because they have feel wronged somehow in their mixed up little head.

Intelligence i meant in this case was not what decides what you think about right or wrong or what ideology you "choose".
