Based on what. There is no way you can make 20€/d whatever per hour on d3.
have you actually accounted that items will not sell? you need buyers for them!
No way you are gona get 20€+ worth item in every hour. And even if you would, so will others then, thus it becomes soon worthless. (even if you get like 5€ for mediocre items, I doubt they will sell that often)
I like your style of throwing a random number without any proof of sales or droprates or anything at all :D. Sure made me wonder are you blizzard GM or something :D
I like your style of not understanding the concept of basic math. If you know the average price of an auction on the RMAH, the droprate of sellable items and the amount of time it takes to on average find such an item, you can calculate your net profit per hour. I don't need 'proof of sales or droprates' for that to be true. I'm not saying can predict with 100% certainty the amount of money anyone will be able to make in any situation, I'm giving a rough average. If you can get yourself into Inferno act 3 or 4 and farm that efficiently, you can easily find yourself an item that would currently sell for 20 euro's (based on what I've heard people talk about).
Also, in regards to items that don't sell - are you serious? If you put up an item and it doesn't sell, you get it back and you put it up again. I'm talking about items currently worth 20 bucks on the RMAH. If you get unlucky, it'll still sell the second time. Aka instead of making 20 bucks every hour for 2 hours, you make 40 bucks the second hour and 0 bucks the first.
You must be quite a wizard to calculate when you get one good item from randomly generated items that have random affixes. Yes I think its that much random, you might get 2 good items a day or not a single one in a week.
Average price on AH? where do you get that from...maybe in time the prices might settle, but cmon. Now you make another assumption and call yourself doing math. Not to mention "based on what I heard people talking"...right...
And damn right im serious of items not selling. How do you even make 20€/h if your items dont sell and you have 10 auction slots. You dont think the prices will drop while you wait for weeks or months to sell all of your items? And you really think just putting it there with same price will eventually get it sold? Its matter of demand and suplying. If someone puts same item for 19€, I guess your item didnt sell.
That 20€/h is just so ridiculous. I might bet 5€/h at max. Just cause there wont be enough people to buy your shit, even if you could farm well enough.
Yes I would call it rocked science too. Too many random variables to state something like you did.
What is up with people lately? This is the second time in a week or such where I'm just putting up some basic assumptions and ideas and someone comes at me like I'm the asshole.

It's funny 'cause I'm partially basing my assumption on you. Feel free to be sceptical about your own observations, though. I've heard multiple people say the same things as you did on the previous page, which is where I got the idea that semi-good items (a 140 dex, 60 vitality, 15 magic find 2 socket breastplate is pretty darn good, but far from epic high end) currently sell at around 20 bucks. Some of my palls have also had similar items (perhaps slightly worse) drop for them in inferno act 1 and 2, and they aren't exactly the type of hardcore D3 players that form a huge exception to the rule. I've got this crazy theory that the droprate or at least chance to find good items goes up even further in inferno act 3 and 4.
All this information combined leads me to say that the average player might find one or two of those 20 bucks items per evening of playing, assuming they are farming inferno act 4 or even inferno Diablo. I know that if you play as efficiently as possible, as quick as possible and purely for the money (skipping everything not worth it and such), you can easily at least double that time. Bringing you up to three to four 20-buck items per evening, which is 4-6 hours. Whaddayaguess, that looks a remarkable lot like 20 bucks per hour!

So basically, what you're saying is... circumstances might change causing you to gain less money. Especially considering the idea of suppy and demand. Gee, I wonder if it's possible that someone has mentioned this before, when he wrote out his goddamn idea in the first place. OH WAIT!
Yes I would call it rocked science too. Too many random variables to state something like you did.
No. Not at all, actually. My statement was that things might change, but that from the simple calculations I had done it seems that with the prices as they are now, you could with some luck make 20 bucks an hour by farming as efficiently as possible. I'm pretty sure that still holds true, because of the fact that I threw so many "if"s in there in the first place. And even if it's proven true, it won't be because of random variables: the whole concept of my statement is that it was a rough sketch based on how things are right now, not really taking future changes to the RMAH into account.
You're the one acting like I said everyone will always be able to make 20 bucks/h consistantly without putting any effort in. Feel free to downplay my calculations or prove my actual statement wrong, but don't go calling bullshit when you don't even know what you're calling out - that pisses me off.
(On a personal level, I should add. Even though I'm a mod, this whole talk is Mozared speaking, not the mod. Nobody's gonna get banned for this. Just saying.)
80 dollars... I haven't even farmed that much. I found an epic wizard breastplate waaaaayy back, but seeing as the RMAH was coming out soon I figured I'd wait. The wait was worth it. ^o^

Equipment is the only items available on RMAH atm.
