Sarkozy reminded me of Hitler of how he was speaking and being short. Its also funny how he slammed immigrants in the last month just to gain popularity, when both of his parents were immigrants.
I dont think there will be world war. But we already had 2 of that, so who knows...
If you think EU helps Greece, than you are delusional. EU is bunch of unelected politicians who try to make more and more laws over countries, that they know nothing about. And having Germany, Greece, Spain... with the same currency is an insane idea....
I dont think there is real Capitalism in this world currently. And I think any other economic system is dangerous with the current mental level of humanity.
The sad thing about children delivering those speeches is that it's always so incredibly clearly orchestrated by adults. It's not something they say from the heart an in an innocent way, it's something an adult told them to say. Which generally makes the whole thing sick moreso than respectable.
...and so are we! :D The (not so) funny part about him though is that, during 5 years, people were all complaining about what he did. IMHO he just went wild, like a child in a playground... Then a few days ago, he scored 48%. French people make me sick sometimes, in times like these you realize they can't be trusted. They blamed Sarkozy for years, but when it comes to kick him out, half of them decided he should stay... I don't like Hollande that much but let's be honest, there is no way I'd vote for a president once again after he left us in such a mess. Sarkozy is one of the reasons I'm leaving France for another country.
It's funny how that's been happening. We've had the exact same thing here in Holland. People have been voting for Geert Wilders over the past couple of years as a bit of a protest against "all the immigrants" (I wish they'd cut this bullshit out) and the weak nerdy ass politics our usual politicians abide by. Geert got into the parlament and pretty much fucked up every decision the other parties tried to make. This goes up to the point of being locked up in a house for three weeks with his colleagues in order to come up with a financial plan for the upcoming year and then screwing it over because of his extremist views. Everybody views that shit as a complete failure (even me, and I don't have faith in politicians' "financial plans for the future" to begin with), and yet he's barely lost any support.
And having Germany, Greece, Spain... with the same currency is an insane idea....
What? Why? I think it's a great idea. Globalisation is THE way forward. We just need to learn to A) let go of retarded pet peeves and stop being fucking morons and B) understand that there's a limit in resources available to us and freaking act accordingly. The best view I've got in mind for the future of humanity is the one from Star Trek where we form one federation of 'earthlings'. Or as Enter Shikari puts it;
And then I realise that
We need to use our own two feet to walk these tracks
And we have to squad up, and we have to watch each other's backs
With forgiveness as our torch and imagination our sword
We'll untie the ropes of hate and slash open the minds of the bored
And we'll start a world so equal and free, every inch of this Earth is yours
All the land and all the sea
Imagine no restrictions but the climate and the weather
And we can explore space, together, forever...
It reminds me of Fukushima by the way, we've heard about it for weeks but now everyone is mute... The problem is getting worth every day but they're trying to make us think there's nothing to worry about.
Good for you. It's a good thing when people don't feel worried about nuclear power. Especially if those people are frenchmen. As I know France produce 80% of its energy from nuclear plants. Can you imagine what will happen when french people get paniced and force goverment to close nuclear plants? Like japanese did, so all their plants are closed now. They would be care better about the Godzilla. Because nuclear plants are safiest places in the world. Who knows why Japanese made their Fukushima plant's safety systems like there was no lessons of Chernobyl. While any Russian nuclear plant probably can survive a nuclear strike and still be safe and keep its radiation inside. I think the same situation is for US or France or other countries' nuclear plants. But the only thing nuclear plants are not safe against is unfounded fear of uneducated people, who believe in ghosts and would prefer to live in stone age in sake of safety. So, it's a good thing, to keep incompetent masses away from scary Fukushima pictures.
@Zolden: Go
To make a 3rd generation nuclear plant to fail you would need to make a nuclear strike against it. Their core is self cooling...
Fukushima is a failure of privatization... the plant wasnt regulated correctly and when the shit happened the company didnt do enough, however no one will admit that in Japan, they will commit suicide before admitting something like that...

The Star Trek utopia is nice thing, but I am not so idealistic. I will just stick with that competing social systems, that way there is no chance that the whole world will come under 1 dictator or failed system... Of course we need agreements on global environment and so on....
And about Euro, the German economy is far stronger than the Greece's one. So while Germany is keeping the Euro relatively strong the Greece economy is crashing under it... (Their exports cant hold on for that strong currency for example...)
The way to go for Greece is the Icelandic example... (however nobody will be happy with that outside Greece)
We are going downhill though, as a politician named 'Geert Wilders' (basically a nazi) is gaining a pretty decent foothold through the same campaigning bullshit that's been wavering over from the US.
Xenophobia seems to be growing trend in europe Imo. Golden Dawn got 22/300 represents in Greece, here in Sweden we got the so called Sweden Democrats with just over 6% of the votes last election which is just enough to make it into the parliament, both of them seem very xenophobic and Golden Dawn's symbol is eerie to say the least.

I'm not idealistic either. Again as ES puts it; "I'm not saying we could do better, but given the chance we try". Why not aim for a perfect society? If we end up anywhere close to it I'll be happy. The problems you are pointing out are problems we have with the economical situation in Europe right now. We need to look towards the future, and improve the very fundamentals of what we have right now. And we have the technology to actually do so without completely fucking over everybody alive right now. Just not the will. People need to stop talking about 'Greece' as if it's a problem on its own. It is one of the results of a long outdated system, Iceland being another example.
We are reaching the hard caps on what we can achieve with our current system distribution of wealth. We need to improve our efficiency by implementing new technology. But that shit costs money for anyone who isn't poor, which is why nobody right now is a big fan of it - people prefer knocking other humans out of the park; the longer they stay poor, the longer we can stay rich. Which ties into the xenophobia Sheo mentioned; why do you think 'immigrants' migrate to our countries? That's right, because they are poor as hell and we've collected all the wealth. Us keeping them out is pretty much literally western society saying "there's only X goods available, we want 80% of X to keep living in the luxury we currently live in, immigrants force us to share, so lets keep them in the 20% zones".
As I know France produce 80% of its energy from nuclear plants.
I don't know the exact number but I think you're close enough... Since Fukushima though, we are very concerned about the use of nuclear power in our country. We'd like to switch to new, more ecological solutions, because our nuclear plants are getting old (some of them are 40 years old), and the structures themselves could fail us. We're slowly switching to offshore wind turbines, but I don't think it will be enough. Anyway, I think I remember Hollande talking about our nuclear plants during his campaign, and he'd be a fool not to do something about them. It was among a few other topics that should be dealt with quite soon.
Even if I agree the "masses" shouldn't care too much about it, this is a problem we are totally aware of. Back in the days of Chernobyl, the government tried to make us believe the toxic cloud would stop before reaching our borders. It has even become a common joke nowadays, to point out how the government is trying to lie to use with totally absurd statements. I don't think they'd be able to fool us twice, even though Japan tries to hide the truth we know the cloud is still expanding as we speak.
Sarkozy reminded me of Hitler of how he was speaking and being short. Its also funny how he slammed immigrants in the last month just to gain popularity, when both of his parents were immigrants.
Ahah! True... And somehow, it seems like talking about immigration (after 5 years of silence on the topic) still helps get them some points. That, and talking about violence and insecurity. Either French people tend to forget VERY quickly, or they're just dumb. It's not like the average Joe is really aware of what true violence is, besides what the TV is showing them I'm pretty sure a huge majority of them has never witnessed a neighbor shot to death, or their house being burgled. I can't understand why they'd vote to "feel safer" if they don't know what unsafe is...
If you think EU helps Greece, than you are delusional. EU is bunch of unelected politicians who try to make more and more laws over countries, that they know nothing about.
Greece is too proud of itself to ask for help, but they need Europe nonetheless to avoid falling into a civil war. So whether they want it or not, it's in the EU's interest to keep Greece in the union. Whether we should keep them in the union or not is a matter that should be dealt with AFTER the crisis is over. That would be extremely weak and coward to let them deal with their crisis alone, and I think the same applies to Spain or any other country in Europe. I agree with Mozared, we have limited resources and at some point we'll be running out of them. You can't change the way the world works if you keep everybody isolated from each other, that's the kind of decision the entire world should be concerned about. Something huge is over, now is time to think about our future instead of just trying to keep the boat floating while it obviously can't. If the solution won't come from politicians, let it come from the people. At least, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. It's worth trying IMO. Some people consider nothing can be done if our constitutions are not rewritten (among other things), and I agree with them.
I dont think there is real Capitalism in this world currently. And I think any other economic system is dangerous with the current mental level of humanity.
I agree with the second part, but it doesn't mean it can't be done... I can't tell if 2012 is the year for this yet, but eventually things HAVE to change and it will. My sense of patriotism is close to zero, but one thing I know for sure is that humanity faced tough challenges in history, and always managed to find a solution. It just takes time, and it's not something that can be done without considering the help from (and opinion of) other nations.
Not that I want to blame capitalism alone for the crisis we're in, but you have to admit there is something wrong with stock markets and how they managed to dry entire countries out of their wealth. I don't know of any country in the world which hasn't astronomical debts to pay. That's enough of a proof to me there is some kind of a system somewhere, causing all our troubles intentionally. Capitalism led to speculations, speculations led to "ghost money", countries are now dry. Now we've reached a point where everyone is lacking money, and the natural resources we've based our business models on are slowly being wasted.
There's a phrase in French that says "c'est comme scier la branche sur laquelle on est assis", which basically means we know we're putting ourselves in danger but we still won't stop. It can't last forever though, it will either die by itself (probably making some people in Wall Street insanely rich in the process), or the people will force it to change (either by fighting or using democracy).

You guys clearly have no clue whats up with Greece. Greece will only grow if its defaults on its debt. Like Iceland did (Iceland has the highest growth now in Europe). If Greece defaults, it will start a domino and it will kill the European union... (specially with all these new retarded ECB debt packs, like EFSF).
Current Stock Markets has nothing to do with capitalism. Most of it controlled and manipulated by banks which "cant fail". And most of the stocks are backed by far less than its stated. Those who invest in stocks these times are mad...

Perhaps not, but the fact remains that our system is outdated and in dire need of replacement. And we can still strive for something better. And tying into my previous part - let the domino fall. I'd love some kind of global crisis. We'd have to get rid of all the debts, think about how we distribute wealth and basically get our fucking act together. EVERYONE. This might make our lives a lot harder for a couple of years, but if we don't kill ourselves we'll come out brilliantly. I doubt this 'crisis' that's been around for a couple of years will ever go away, and the only real question is when it starts to affect everyone instead of just the poor.

Thats what I wish too. I think we need reset and it will sooner or later happen anyway (I hope we end up with hyperinflation and not deflation...)
1st his lawyer quit, and told everyone that his birth certificate was a fake
2nd. He accidentally left the mic on when talking to the russian Prime minister, and said that he would give them nuclear deterrence....
3rd. He outsourced his job to a guy in london, so now all foreign policy goes through the uk.
OH YEAH I REMEMBER NOW!!!!! he sent 150 soldiers + 500,000$ a day + a yearly payment of 500,000,000$ To Uganda to hunt kony... who the Ugandan, and Kenyan government publicy caught and Executed 2006 caught 2008 killed.... all because of that internet video... He sent those troops last month.
Oh and dont forget how Treyvon would looked like his son would, because thats all that was sad about a dead teen... lol
He says hes creating jobs, but he outsources the presidency.... lol sad
These are just a few of the blunders hes made recently.
Can we vote for No president... yeah no bills would go through but thats about it... the senate and house does the rest.... they suck too though.
What Mozzy said. Also you've not given quite enough arguments to give any sort of valid point, you've said you're afraid but of what? Your point COULD go from that muslims will outbreed us and suddenly weaponize their entire race to them outvoting us, taking our jobs etc. But either way it seems pretty implausible and even taken to the extreme i'm not afraid of it; Immigrants are often more keen of studying and go for higher education than lazy Swedes, i would easily trust them to vote rather than some of the people i have met in my life which life goals are to chill and play WoW.
How to fix the economy? Simple we need to get away from Capitalism and Communism, And even a mixed economy, The ideal that would save us all, is simple
Set a Limit to how much that person can have at one time, The limit should be 50Million thats not small change....
A corporation should have a set limit for the entire company too... 5 billion.
When something goes over the limit, the money that is gained after that is sent to the lowest class to catch them up to middle class, Well or just put it into Welfare system.
This solves 2 problems, 1 Poor people wont starve, 2 When a rich person nears the 50 million mark he/she will start buying alot of stuff there fore putting money back into circulation, Also the poorest class will have the money to Start Businesses and buy extra stuff, therefore throwing more Inventions and money into Circulation.
Also this way all congress has to do to adjust the economy is adjust the limits.
@Taintedwisp: Go
You know that what you say actually solves nothing? Even though it would impossible to enforce without totalitarianism.
So lets state its enforced:
There would be more "poor" people, as they would get money for nothing...
The rich would never invest their money as they would loose if it gets over 50 million so they would spent it on useless stuff which doesnt produces returns...
BUT There wouldnt be more poor people, because it would be Recylced into the Welfare system, which is failing now, so they would get the same amount they do now, but the system wouldnt be a one way system
AND the rich would do just like you said, Buy lots of shit, putting money into the pockets of buisness owners, Instead of saving it, therefore putting it back into the system, The rest of the system would have to work like capitalism.
THE REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS WHO THING IS SIMPLE!!!, Fucking dickwad rich people, would hold their money in other countries, in seperate bank accounts... and those countries would have Jurisdiction over that money.
See, no one talked about Canada here. We're too boring and normal. I guess that's good for living here, but we aren't really a world power decision maker.

I think we need a SC2 map about world politics right now :D
None of this matters, the world will end very soon once Obama reveals himself as the antichrist.
Play Photon Discs while you still can.

If you are greece your goal is to deceive people as long as possible (to get moneyz).

Oh you didnt hear what that dumbass(obama) did?
@TheTorrasque: Go
What Mozzy said.
@Taintedwisp: Go You know that what you say actually solves nothing? Even though it would impossible to enforce without totalitarianism.
So lets state its enforced:
There would be more "poor" people, as they would get money for nothing...
The rich would never invest their money as they would loose if it gets over 50 million so they would spent it on useless stuff which doesnt produces returns...
@Hookah604:
The enforcing part is a good point...
