Once again, I don't want to download a random file. Adding getting a serial number from Western Samoa isn't going to make it better. If there some kind of reliable and safe freeware out there that can get the job done? I can convert some m4a to wav using itunes but some songs are protected.
I suggest Audiacity. It's a pretty good free audio editor, and rather easy to use. You have to download the LAME Mp3 encoder dll if you want to convert into .mp3 with it. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/?lang=en (Audiacity) http://lame.sourceforge.net/ (LAME for mp3 encoding, if you need it)
If you want to rip the sound from mpeg-4 files, or want to do anything else with Video as source material, then you should take a look at VirtualDub. Again, a free and easy-to-use editing tool which can open and convert most normal video and audio formats. (It doesn't know stuff like ogg or matroska, but that's what VirtualDubMod is for.)
I get to paranoid about downloading random programs. I'd rather have one thats been tested by someone else.
I usually google Mpeg4 to Wav
The first link always works for me :< Using www.Serials.ws to get the serial to get it working.

I guess you mean audio->audio conversion?

Yeah I mean m4p. For some reason it said it was a mpeg4. I tried opening it up in audacity but it wouldn't because of the encryption.

I use FormatFactory. It is simple to use and free.
