i got beta key few months ago and to be honest i deleted this game after a week, this game nothing close to anything u can call fresh or interesting, WoW Battlegrounds on advanced sc2 engine? wtf, they want money for that? ffs i won't play it even for free, game industry nowadays needs "fresh ideas" this whole game looks like a dead end to me, as DOTA and LOL
blizzard got stuck about ideas a long time ago, i think DOTA was created becuz of it, and nowadays nothing changes, as for me, I DONT WANT NEW ENGINES, I WANT NEW GAMES, i won't pay a cent for games like HeroesoftheStorm, not anymore
It will be so cool and wonderful if the next rock the cabinet will be as winner get its own game fully back by Blizz and supported by the company and of course.
Now that the next one will be about W3 I dont think is fair to leave SC2 games out as not all of us know about W3 and dont have the time to get in to.
Doing a MOBA style like DOTA is not my style of gaming but ohhh well blizz dosent ask before making stuff up. Im sure it has its fan base and I could be one of them if only Heroes of the Storm came with the editor. But we know better then to hope.
Comparing Heroes and the Storm and LoL/Dota 2/HoN is like comparing football to rugby. They might use a loosely similar concept, but the games themselves are very, very different. I personally think HoTS is much, much more entertaining than LoL (which I play quite often), just because of the casual atmosphere.
The trouble Blizzard is going to have is getting past the "just another moba" attitude that lots of people are giving the game, because in reality, it isn't.
For me, i started in hots alpha, now beta, but i have to be honest, i dont think this game will have long-life succes. The game is good for what he is, but for me, the game sufer a major lack of deep.
You need to buy a "free to play" game? Either sign up for beta and hope you get lucky (which people generally do, they are generous) or wait until it is officially released.
I got into the beta, I like it. Feels very casual but also there's more to it the more you play it.
Needless to say since it felt so casual I stopped playing it. Then played like a week, then stopped again.... It doesn't do a very good goob at engaging one to fully commit to it IMO.
Still, that doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Custom games should win this race, the only question when?

Great to be back and part of the community again!
I play Heroes almost exclusively for co-op right now since it's the easiest way to do dailies to unlock new heroes.
Frankly, I've begun to enjoy comp stomping more than regular play, and I'd love to see 'Hero Siege' type maps being made with the editor.

You can buy your way in with the founder's pack. I think that's what he meant.
I bought into the beta..... not gonna lie, its not worth the $40 I paid.
