Just wanted to let you know that Portal 2 is finally out. See the link below (which you probably know already if you have Steam, the potato sack, and/or pre-ordered the game): http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/
If anyone wishes to discuss how the game is, what is good and what isn't, make your own little review or whatever, do it here! I'm really interested in knowing how long the game is and if it's as fun as I think it is with the new features. I haven't pre-ordered the game and wish to have some feedback first before buying it.
Have fun, and don't forget to think with portals! :)
Its out? I thought it wasn't for another week or so... Whatever. I got portal 1 from steam during this free offer thing they did. Great game but much too short. Obviously thats fine since it was just a college level project. But portal 2....Can't wait to see it. I'll probably buy it sometime....I hope they have an equally good credits song, too.
I wonder.... Will there be cake this time?

Well, I've bought it, and I love it. And I can say that the campaign is at least twice as long as the original portal was. I'm very impressed with it. Although I've not yet played the co-op mode.
Should be about 4x as long, from what I heard. Single Player campaign is 2x as long as the co-op campagin has its own levels and is equally long.
edit- Ign did a review of it here... looks good... I will probably buy it at some point but not right away.. I love the jokes in the game. It really enhances the value.
By the way, I just checked Steam and there doesn't seem to be any kind of DLC for Portal 2... I also checked the forums about the game and it looks like people are confusing extra contents (hats, gestures and whatnot) as DLCs. Lots of negative feedback on various websites, but there are also lots of good feedback everywhere, and people do not really understand this amount of complaints. I'm pretty sure those who complained were expecting so much from the game BEFORE the release that they end up disappointed anyway... so I tend to don't take Metacritic comments too seriously, haters will always be haters and fans will always give it a 10.
I'm wondering if I should buy the game or wait for it to be cheaper, it's what I did for Portal 1 because I knew it was very short (I finished it in a day even if I wasn't rushing). If Portal 2 is two or four times as long as Portal 1, sounds fine by me (though I was expecting a bit more, to be completely honest). Still not worth its price though, so I guess I'll wait a bit...
@Lonami: From what I understood, you play as the same girl you were in Portal 1 (known as Chell, a girl in an orange suit)... The 2 robots are for co-op only, a player controls the big robot and another controls the tall one. Laurel and Hardy comes to my mind... :D
Yeah, didn't notice they changed the ending of Portal 1 :P.
What are you talking about? They didn't change the ending. Didn't you hear the voice at the end of Portal 1 say "thank you for assuming the party associate position" and drag you away... presumably back to your cell.
Sadly, theres no mention of cake :(. I can however say that the square root of rope is string... Or is that a spoiler?
I've bought it, and finished the single player campaign. Took me around 7-8 hours I would estimate (Started playing 1PM, now 10PM, but I had breaks etc during playtime). Theres also the co-op campaign that looks quite long. When pre-loading on steam it downloaded in around 3 hours at 1.9mb/s average speed, so is quite a large game. Definitely worth the £27 I paid for it. Voice acting is brilliant, it's really funny, has lots of content and a multiplayer mode that would be really fun when played. 10/10, must buy! Now! >:(
Game was amazing, so was the midnight release. I had so much fun, love bonding with other Portalians. Can't wait to try out Co-op with a friend when he is on. I really need to read tutorials though! Oh well...they can wait a day...right? :)
That bit with the party associate position and getting taken back was not always there. Originally it faded out and you assumed you were free. But in a later patch, after portal 2 was being planned, they changed the ending secretly to be like that .
Portal 2 takes very far into the future when the girl wakes up from cryogenic sleeep. Glados has been dead and the entire lab is all ruined. And the co-op robots come after the single player storyline, but from what I know they don't show up in it. I really want to get it but I'm kind of low on cash right now :( lol

My little bro is probably gunna buy it. He buys everything just for the sake of wasting money lol....I'll probably get to play it then. Either way, it looks funny as ever.
One question to any who have beaten it- is there a credit song and is it amazing? :D

I may buy portal 2. I was never interested in the original, and I buy almost every Valve game. I actually just bought portal 1 today to see what the hype was; but I was correct, it is definitely not my type of game. Maybe portal 2 will be better, but the puzzle style didn't really do it for me ><
How can you not like such silly mind boggling puzzles that make no sense figuring it out and then after you go on youtube and search the puzzle you find out that it was right in front of you and your are an idiot! How is that not fun? :)
Just kidding, that happened once to me today. I think I was playing Portal 2 way too long though, to the point my brain was fried. Anyway, I really like Wheatley, at least until he... -SPOILER- becomes the bad guy. :(

I heard a lot of players complaining about the DLC content. Could cost up to $85. Only 4 hour length.

The ad I saw was robots shooting holes in walls with laser guns and jumping through them...

The robots are the cop-op protagonists only, or you play with them at single, too? if not, who do you play with at single?

You play with the same chick from Portal 1 in SinglePlayer, Chell
I'll let TheAlmaity answer that one... :D
