thats still after Starcraft, Starcraft 1 was released march 1998. and the book was most likely released after starcraft.
I think its liek Mozared had said, both have pretty basic units, its most likely coincidence.
Cool fact I just learned though

Thats the third edition. The very first editions date circa 1988. Do your fucking research.
Go play Antioch Chronicles Remastered!
Also, coming soon, Antioch Episode 3: Thoughts in Chaos!
Dont like mapster's ugly white? Try Mapster's Classic Skin!
Then you misspelled 1988, and I re-checked the books your right there was 3 books that were 1989 and not 1998 I misread that one my bad
Warhammer: Wolf Riders (1989) Warhammer: Ignorant Armies (1989) Warhammer: Red Thirst (1990)
But there was no Warhammer 40k books before starcraft,
And my points still stand, the only things that could have been stolen would have been basic desciptions and cover art, all 3 books have useless cover art not sure if the books are good or not though. once agian not bashing warhammer or anything.
No I didnt. Learn to read.
Man, you truly excel at doing mediocre research. Because, hey, take a guess:

Hmm, what does it say here, OH RIGHT, 1989.
At this point I am not even arguing wether thy ripped off or not, only the outright misinformation you spout as facts.

why must thier always be some loser fanboy complaining, I dont read game books... and I am not researching for an hour to find the exact date of a book that still holds no relevance to the subject. so the whole argument of that book is mute.
and if that was the book you were talking about why didnt you link that one? Quit trolling..
if anything it proves my point the books cover shows marines, they have very little similarities, Storm troopers look more like the marines used in starcraft. you know what it shows? that warhammer changed their original designs to be similar to starcraft.
My search took me less than 5 minutes. And yes, the book is relevant, for they are the officially published rulesets by Games Workshop, which define a tabletop edition release date. It is entirely relevant.
I posted the third edition books because you came up with bullshit like
Which is, take a guess, wrong.
Let me clarify, aside from the Orc semblance, I don't think there was much ripoff (if any) by Blizzard. I have a concern when you come up with fanboy statements defending Blizzard by saying that GW copied them, when there is no evidence for it.
You say "I'm not trying to bash warhammer", which is not backed up by your other statements like "Warhammer sucks... Tis true.", "Warhammer stole the idea from blizzard to make a medieval fantasy RTS game", "They came to GW one day and asked if they could make a game, GW being the old crabby man that it is refused" and even " I would actually have to say that Blizzard made their orc, and then warhammer kind of copied a little bit of the art style". Sure, those are opinions, but all of those are based on biased and factually wrong statements.
For being such a WH fanboy hater, you surely come up as a WC/SC fanboy.

this whole thread was to see if blizzard steals from warhammer, When I said stuff such as "Warhammer stole the idea from blizzard to make a medieval fantasy RTS game" I was contradicting the normal everyday hearing on how Blizzard ripped off Warhammer... it was a joke... chill out.
Second Dont take things out of context. Heres is the whole sentence,
Warhammer sucks... Tis true. thats my opinion though, I just dont like their community or their games. they are to me something I would play to wait for the next blizzard RTS.
It was an opinion. That is all, and I even states that is my opinion OPINION, meaning that I personally dont like their games nor their community that is all...
and im no blizzard fan boy, I just look at one fact, Blizzard has yet to make a game that WASN'T Groundbreaking. Warcraft 1 Revolutionized RTS, Warcraft 2, Re-revolutionized RTS, Starcraft Set the standard for RTS, Warcraft 3, Set the Mapmaking standards, WoW set the RPG standard, Shall I continue? Starcraft 2 Re- Set the standard. lol.
I would say Wc3 set the standard for RTS but Other games came out after WC3 that had a better RTS element to it, WC3 Great game, Just not Fully an RTS. its more of an RTS RPG.
When Blizzard makes a bad game, I will quit buying them, Even with bad decisions (no lan) Blizzard still made an amazing Starcraft Sequel with its only real problems in the editor/ Pop system.
Aw shit, so much fallacies and ad-hominems and strawmanning.
Better leave this thread before it's too late.

Does five months count as a necro? :)
It all boils down to this I love Blizzard but they are a very serious company and I'm sure GW is as well. So if somebody truly did steal there would be a lawsuit. If the lawsuit fails then that person didn't steal from you. It would be ridiculous to say both Blizz and GW haven't used each others work as inspiration but if somebody truly stole something it would have been addressed in court.
Can this thread die peacefully now?
30 min before I posted, I believe someone posted here, then deleted their post, so idk.
