if you hate TV censorship in USA please do sign. if you have negative comments please put them elsewhere... ok? this is serious. we need to fix that which has been killed or rather thrown into a deep hole. also if you can i would like it if someone would make a video on youtube.com against censorship with this link that would help... that is all... (probably a lot of spite coming my way oh well... had to try.) heres a link of the petition in case you wanted to help me (among other things) http://www.gopetition.com/petition/39657.html
TV censorship is already through the roof in the USA, haven't got a lot of hope for you folks anymore on that behalf. At least someone's doing something though, I guess...
People are blind. Censorship is going on way more than people realize. Americans in special hold to their belief that they live in a free country and don't see it happening to them. Here in Brazil most people don't see it too, they love reality shows and soccer and swallow every bullshit the TV throws at them.
Censorship doesn't need to be official, without nay laws to support them powerful companies can totally rule over TV decisions.
true true true people are indeed blind but ya know what someone has to try to do something about it cause as far as im concerned censorship is satanic and a crime. (aka censorship does nothing but hurt and destroy and its a product of the devil.) i know mozared wouldn't agree with all of what i said but yea i hate censorship... completely it is eating away at me and i doubt im the only one.
There are decades-old regulations restricting the content of antiquated televised media broadcasts? Quickly, we must take to the zeppelins and resolve this urgency with the gravest haste.
At least TV is losing potential to maintain control over people as the internet is better to disseminate information. In my opinion they can destroy TV as long as they don't touch the internet. Things are already changing because the population never had a way to share their thoughts like they can now with the internet.
What kind of censorship are you guys referring to? The sounds of it you make it sound like the US is censoring information to make Americans think a specific way. But I always thought that was the TV stations that are forcing their ideals onto us and not some law preventing them from being free.
I'm referring specifically to your news networks, half of which are funded by people with a certain political interests. Fox news specifically is propaganda to the point of supreme obviousness, but pretty much all of them are affected. It becomes more and more obvious as we get closer to election day. Note how almost nothing politicians up for the big vote do actually relates to laying out their ideals and viewpoints and most of it is a soap opera. Even the debates are just a click away from introducing a jury led by Kanye West to push buttons and pronounce which speaker threw the dopest diss out there.
I think that's more of US standards today. The people rarely care about the ideals or interests of who's running. They want to know if they've done something stupid. It's called mudslinging or something like that. It's stupid but since americans care more about a person's past and what they did instead of what they're doing the elections end up being pointless.
Obama probably got quite a few votes because it was found out he smoked pot when he was younger, really who hasn't experimented. When it came to election time all I was hearing around school was "Obama's cool he's going to legalize weed" and other crap like that. But the issue here is television censorship. I don't think that our TV is censored as much as it's paid to show a specific ideal. If you look at a lot of game reviews it's similar. They'll give all the CoDs 9s or whatever even though they don't improve on anything and it's typically giving less and less each year. But Activision has the reviews in their pockets so they get good reviews. If you look online for real player reviews, possibly more famous people(I forget his name but it's a british guy who almost always shows all the negative sides of a game, but he doesn't just hate he actually tells the truth) who can actually give good information on a game it's not that the reviews are censored just being led in a certain way because of money.
I don't think that our TV is censored as much as it's paid to show a specific ideal.
Point is, that kind of is the definition of censorship. Worst case, 'reverse censorship'. If people are paying news networks to only show stuff they like, then they are also automatically paying for the news network to not show stuff they don't like.
To censor means to forbid the public distribution of some thing. If people are paying a private firm to air or talk about certain things at the expense of talking about other things, that is not censorship because they are not forbidding the airing of those things, but rather are simply not choosing to air it. They are not setting up barriers to the information.
If you are angry about what Newscorp or any other major corporation airs or does not air, buy a share, take some responsibility, go out to a shareholder meeting, and speak and be heard. Anyone who whines about "the corporations" who has not done this is, as far as I am concerned, just plain lazy. Who owns these corporations? Well, anyone with a pension, IRA, insurance, or any other investment type product probably owns shares in a telecommunication company someway. If you and a bunch of other people own shares in a mutual fund whose fund owns part of these companies, tell the mutual fund that you want them to drop the share or demand that the company do something different, or you will leave the fund.
There are all sorts of ways you can make a difference and tell senior management and the BoD to do something different, but in involves actual action, not "liking" someone's facebook or signing some worthless petition.
This might sound stupid, But i Have satellite like 90% of the people of america now lol the other 10% are Cable :D lol my statistics are BS i know.
But i dont notice too much Censory... I notice more in places like japan really. We do go overboard on censoring language though. Here is my belief... Plain and simple and i dont think its over the top at all.
No nudity or R rated crap on public channels until after 8 pm....
Thats how Comedy Central does it. and I think that is fine. And thats just so little kids 1-10 yr olds can go to bed before the gritty dirty that everyone loves comes on.
I personally hate all internet censored shit I blame obama, the FBI never shut down a website before them... well never shut down a site without court action. ... lol
