Like mentioned earlier...These long timestamps are not intended, and are being removed from the front page and replaced with the short ones (like before).

We deployed a few improvements today, updating how we format dates for posts, as well as fixing the last login and front page dates. We also added the ability to unlike a post you've previously liked.
@arubaru304: Go Maybe because nobody should have a negative reputation around here :-) I agree with Kueken, it will help people find the right guys when they're looking for help or any kind of information. Or find the right guys when newcomers are supposed to buy us some beer (work on your rep Almaity).
Yo, Prencher It isnt that big of a deal, but could you make the Forum support Livestream videos?, this is just for Sc2Streamster so we dont have to go to livestream.com/sc2streamster

Working on, working on it. Already considered making a seperate account and finding all my old posts. 1.7k rep easily gotten :p lol, jk
Guess I'll have to stalk the data forums more actively from now on :p
and as I said on the top secret moderator forums: Nice to see some work being done, Prencher ;) Keep it up! I'll get the newbies to buy you a drink as well (As soon as any of them actually does end up buying drinks...)

Flash is very heavy, especially live stream type objects. It also presents a very fluff feature and api set to maintain, for very little gain. Combine that with the cost of having them inserted randomly into pages, it is simply not worth it for us.

I'd say at Blizzcon '12, but then they cancelled it. :(

Seeing it in action for some time now, I feel like the system is a little misplaced here in the forums.
From what I understand, it is supposed to mainly be an indicator, how helpful/trusted a person is and how most likely the quality of information you receive from him will be; after all this is mainly a mapping platform and a major source of mapping information and help.
However, if someone posts a funny picture in some thread in general chat or offtopic, many people will see it, some of them will think its funny, and some of them will like the post. So this picture receives maybe 5 to 10 likes.
If someone however answer a question in the mapping forums, he will usually receive 0 to 1 likes instead. Even if the information he provided is amazing with like detailed background, research, possible sideeffects and solutions etc ect. he will still receive a maximum of 1 like by the person he helped (if that person actually knows and cares about the like function). And noone will browse the forums and search for helpful posts to like them or something. Maybe if someone has the exact same problem and finds the thread later on you wil receive another one.
So if it is actually designed to provide an estimate of post quality for mapping-related posts, it doesn't work. Just look at my reputation: Half of it is from the very first post in this thread; even though I am sure, I provided some helpful information in the meantime. I could have just made another post like that one, maybe with a funny video or something and be at the same reputation without actually providing a single bit of helpful information or whatever.
And so I actually wrote another lengthy post about this, even though, I claim not to care about it. Maybe I do care, after all... whatever ;)
People are social organisms, they naturally have perfect inner system to classify other people by different criteria. No matter, if it's a real life or a forum. So, if a person cares about gathering useful information, it identifies experienced forum members very quickly. For example, yesterday I registered at Cpp forum to ask a thing, and recieved a few solutions, and I instantly estimated how useful are those by the information itself. And after it I realized that each member has "reputation" number, and every post has a "thank you, your advice helped" button. So, seems like even if the "like" function is apparently indicates usefulness of a person's posts, people mostly rely on the information a guy provides, then numbers his account decorated with.
But if we talk about some forum calculations, which take into account reputation numbers. it may be useful to sort search results, to prefer liked posts. And if a person searches in development section, he won't get useless funny posts.
But I don't see how to use reputation linked to a member. Number of messages may say more. Maybe it makes foum communications more attractive because of social approval alolowed. Psychologically ppl are addicted to social approval. It's one of the greatest motivation sources.
Karma without dislikes? That's exactly the karma system I was after. Appreciate to see something happening around here, cheers!
Well it's about time...
Maybe they can also listen to us and give us back our old time tag things?

I happen to think that the lower your reputation score is, the more elite you are.
I just wish that troll who liked one of my posts would take it back. . . HE RUINED MY PERFECT SCORE!
I see what you did there :O.
I like, how my post ranting about how useless likes are, received 2 likes >.<
