Our president is a draft dodger
Our senators are all rich, some born rich.
Our congressmen are all over 45 yrs old
Now let me explain
The president is a coward... He let a marine get executed, and is letting them keep a 100 million $ drone. and is not saying anything as they insult him by giving him a toy replica....
The rich Wish to be richer... that is their only dream, therefore they are corrupt.
In the past 30 years technology has boom 1000x what it used to be.
Therefore these people we have running our governemnt are too out of touch to even have a clue whats what at this point, we need to have people who are
Courageous, grew up on a fixed income, and Knows current technology well.
Edit:Forgot ending
If these people werent Corrupt cowards, who thinks their is such thing as and Internet "expert" then SOPA would never have even been suggested and they would have told MultiBillion Dollar companies, to Pissoff and protect their Own Digital works. Or dont operate on the FREE internet.

What does that have to do with SOPA? I don't like people who derail threads to get their views across. I'm not commenting on your views, personally, its not my problem, but don't derail a thread based on Anti-Piracy because you feel it is necessary to get your views across. If you really wanna know, I don't know who to believe anymore. Every news station, every idea, all stink of lies. I'm struggling just to find the truth of who's better, but it doesn't matter. The general public is being fed LIES on both sides, and I have no idea what any of it means. Each side ways negative values of the other without seeing the similarities. It's always been like that, but now I see that the cold ugly truth comes out in full breadth when the going gets tough. Everywhere I look, I see passion, misdirected; arrogant, passion. Is there really a disconnect? Is our president really a coward? Who are these courageous politicians who grew up on a fixed income and who herald the technology of the times? I don't know any, I think if SOPA is passed there will be no return to the old way, presidents never follow through on their word, because of checks and balances, or because they lie. I honestly don't want to think about it, but these are my thoughts.
The average of a a congressman in the U.S. is about 65, if I recall correctly. TBH, I don't think that people that old should be allowed to make our laws, because they clearly don't understand the modern world.
This is an extremely pivotal bill. Part of me is a little upset that this site isn't taken down in protest like many other large companies on the net. Thanks for posting.
A few of the mods have expressed there dislike of the bill, Im upset Google didnt take itself down fully for one day and just leave the search engine like it should have.
But this site is owned by CURSE, they have to make the decision to take it down or to put it up.

Achievement unlocked: The Truth!
"Reach the beginning of rational thought and intellectual independence through attaining realization of the fallacy of modern politics."
Curse has expressed their stance against SOPA a while ago. So does google, yahoo, facebook and a tons of others site. However the general public pretty much oblivious to the situation at hands, that's why a protest has to happen. Strike for global companies like google or even small network like curse can create more problems than it solves. See Congress: trying to solve piracy but create more problems than it solves, mainly again, due to the ignorance of the general public and politicians who thinks SOPA is a good law that do what they want to do. If you want to blame, try the media/records giants lobbying this instead.
So in all, shutting down website are our last effort to raise awareness, same thing can be achieved without shutting down business (see wikipedia noscript and mobile, even though wikipedia is non-profit). I can totally understand Curse not blacking-out, though a banner would be appreciated since raising awareness is always welcome.
Good read. I hope the right people can read that and start fixing the system.
People don't mind buying things, but they want to attain it in the easiest way and they want to know they're getting value. If I can go on TPB and get an obscure movie from 1985 (that I love) in an hour then I am going to... but if there was a decent system where I could pay a few bucks and get the same thing, I would. Just a nice flat AVI file, no ads, no waiting, etc...
Same goes for gaming, and Valve did a great job with Steam. I've shelled out a lot of money on old games that I wanted to play again (that happened to be on Steam).
On topic of censoring websites... Is it that different from what we have today? Is it just the freedom of censoring that will change with SOPA, because internet-companies in Denmark have already blocked stuff like TPB and other torrent sites...
@OneTwoSC: Go
I personally mind buying things which I know I can easily copy or remake. (I am against any copy right or IP)
However I dont mind paying for something to be done. Like paying for a concert or to charity.
You could pay for movie to be produced, like what this site is tries to do: http://piratemyfilm.com/
Also there is many way you could add advertisement into movies, if there would be no copyright laws.
I think Hollywood is scared from Youtube. And not because copy right infringements, No they are scared because anybody with a good idea can make a successful show there and people even get payed for it from advertisements! Without copyright law, youtube would crash TV and Hollywood for the better...
@Neonsz: Go
Haha Denmark. You guys fucked up. As I know its similar to the Denmark's one, as after all the same companies pushed these laws everywhere.
But USA is a much bigger market, so it would have much bigger impact on the internet as whole.
Oh, it's not that bad. I'm pretty sure that we don't have a law like SOPA or PIPA, it's rather the state that agrees on blocking a certain website if it's in violation with the laws in our country. It's much more sophisticated than SOPA seems to be. Oh well, I guess if an evil is sophisticated it doesn't make it much better, ey?
let me explain how it worked in Spain for some years. There was a tax called "digital canon" to protect authors and their work from piracy. Sound good right? what if i say that tax was added to every data support (hard disk, dvd, dvd recorders, mobiles, etc), just cause "maybe you will copy something"?
not because you HAVE copy it, but because you MAYBE will copy something.
lets say you work as programer or architect, and you ave your own work on cd. well, you have to pay the tax.
let say you have a lot of photos on your camera (from your holidays, a friend weeding, your little cute child) and you want to save them on a flash memory. Of course, you have to pay tax for that flash ^-^
not just that, SGAE (private company that controlled the canon) had inspectors whose work were go into pubs to make sure they didn't used pirated music (ok, that's good), went to weddngs for the same (WTF? what are they doing in my private wedding?) and even there were some asylums that were denounced for the use of TV!!
don't look so good now, right?
what is more, that agreement was aprobed without the involvement or presence of consumers and authorities.
Several years latter that canon was revoked. by then it was public that the SGAE misappropriated near 15 millon euros per year (from 300 millons it recauded)
there were no consumer support, no financial process to aprove the cannon and a full social negative since the first day, but it last several years before beng revoked. why? Taintedwisp said it: the rich wish to be richer. No matter the opinion of the rest, he will just be richer.
AAAANNNNDDD that is how it works, SOPA is no different. It don't listen to what people think. The rich want to win 10 millons instead of 9, even if he have to cut rights
Same goes for gaming, and Valve did a great job with Steam. I've shelled out a lot of money on old games that I wanted to play again (that happened to be on Steam).
And gog as well, the problem with piracy is service problem, the movie/music industry really need to innovate or lose customers
I agree, Activision may be bitching, But look at blizzard, They protect their games, No one steals their games, because stealin wouldnt help them any
If their was a service Were I could buy my favorite move for avout 5-15$ depending on when it came out, online on an ACCOUNT where I could re download it(No thanks to Itunes which limited my Iron man 2 to 3 copys then deleted it from my account....)I wouldn't pirate anything, Plus alot of times I download a movie and if its good I will go to the Theaters to see it or buy it on dvd, i just bought the new harry potter(Great movie) only because I loved it when I downloaded it...
These Movie Corporations are stupid same with music, They need to make their own server, and quit relying on Itunes, and ebay, and they would make their money....
You dont see 90% of the Games at walmart or hell even gamestop, Because they know how to Sell online much more efficiently...
All it comes down to, Is that the RIAA and the MPAA, will Continue because they see the same weakness in our government that everyone sees, The Legal limit to be a Congressman is age 30, We we either have to have that changed fast, or wait another 10-15 years before people who know technology and grew up with it will be in congress.
Honestly In this day in age I wish every country had the same Economy system of america, with police and everything.
This is how I think the government should work for EVERYONE
this is all the government is.
Police/medical/Firedepartment
Military(Not for war but For research, Never stop researching)
Tax the pubic, maybe 15%
Public schools/Colleges.
Public services(librarys, parks)
Enforce the basic laws(See ten comandments)
Leave the entire internet alone!!!! you cant murder someone on the internet(yet), lol
And DiSBAND THE REST!!!, we dont need congress anymore, All we need really is a spending committee...
Maybe one of those per a state
and a spending committee for the Country. Just to make sure no state gets unemployment rates over 9%(ITS FREAKIN 18% HERE!!!!! I CANT FIND SHIT)
Cant tell me it wouldn't be peacful when the laws werent changing every day....
I think I know the problem with america...
