I can't help but chuckle a little. Make something to show us, and we will say "way to go, looking good!" On sc2 mapster, a good idea on paper is worth about as much as the paper it is written on. ...There is no paper on the internet.
I've had my project up there for a couple weeks now with no responses.. but it's just an alpha map, I honestly didn't even expect any replies until I got a playable version ready.
But really you shouldn't expect anything until you have a playable version, because the mapmaking community here is small. He said he developed for WC3, so perhaps he's expecting the same kind of response that a map on a WC3 website would get.
The thing is we have seen so many projects annouced. So many cancelled before they were even started and many more cancelled before they were playable. Hell, I have a few projects bordering that edge, in the risk of crossing it and falling into the abyss. We are few, and we don't have much time, so we have to use our time for things that, at least apparently, are going through real progress.
But to lock a thread after a day... lol. Most pages will have to wait a day or more to get replies around here.

or even a month jk, noone will find your topic or will lose interest in investigating the message.
I think the biggest letdown for the project is that it needs a trigger editor... it needs a data editor (I firmly believe that you cannot get a dedicated data editor for less than $20 an hour around here)... And you need a UI editor. While there are many good UI editors on here, look at every map to be popular on sc2; then look at the UI it uses. UI is an artwork, and is in short supply as well.
If I had a dollar for every "good idea" that someone wants to get a team of people to do for them, for free, as they dictate the work exactly... well.... I could retire today and outlive the rest of you!
Take a shot at doing it yourself, even if it is stick figures fighting. A frame, some screen shots. No one wants to dedicate themselves to hundreds of hours worth of work in the editor, for a game that isn't well into development already.
Ultimately it is a silly thing to ask for given how barren this site is in terms of available, competent editors. However, some people just like being told what to do and are okay with that. It's just not realistic given how little available people are here anyway.
Lol, only now I took the time to read what the project was about. I "started" a very similar project, based on N64's Rampage - World Tour and its sequel. But I had no real direction for it, I only wanted the players to control big monsters and destroy the city / attack the civilians.
Yeah Eiviyn your right that is so fucking funny. Straight up hilarious as hell...
Well I diden't want to go into details on why I chose to abandon the project, since I diden't want to spend any more time on a project I diden't feel like doing, but since you're being a dick about it:
I would have loved to remove the thread completly, but since I'm a new member of this forum I diden't know how to. I ended up locking it, leaving me unable to change the previously statement, which was supposed to tell of my lost interest in the project, rather than the interest of the SC2 community. The main problem was the amount of help needed to finish such a project.
To those of you who diden't support this arrogant asshole, I salute you.
To you Eiviyn, go fuck yourself with a screwdriver!
@Dariall: Go So it was a matter of misunderstanding. It seemed like you closed it because no one replied. The posts in this thread can give you a picture of how team projects work around here. Its difficult to get people interested unless you get it started and show them something.
Don't let this first contact with SC2 and its community hurt your own interest in it.
Thanks man and it won't. ;)
Just wanted to move over to a project which seem more within my reach, so to speak. It's nice to know that Eiviyn ain't the typical sc2 editor. That there are nice people as well. ;)

@Eiviyn: Go
The guy has some unrealistic expectations and actions to go with it.

I'd just like to say, I think we should support team projects whether they are in the conceptual phase or not.
I had spoken with him through PMs about how some of his expectations were unrealistic and he agreed.

I agree, Dariall. It's not your fault.
Thanks for your understanding FenixKissK. All I wanted was for the thread to be removed.

Meh, this is kind of what the off-topic forum is for.

Didn't*
You're angry and impolite
You know what's a good replacement for pumice as an exfoliant? Used kitty litter.
