I find it hard to take you seriously when you don't even know which countries we are at war with. Whether you agree with him or not, it is obvious that Obama is smarter than anyone on these forums.

heres the thing... we aren't fighting Countries... way for you to not know, We are fighting an Organization known as the Taliban, who have taken Hostage Several Middle Eastern Countries. A group that many of its Leaders Where trained by the US... Learn some history
When we pull out of a country, they will take it back over...
It won't really matter, if they actually waged war it'd be over pretty fast. Honestly, I think they will get with the program and open up a bit. A lot of countries now are moving forward and not clinging to stubborn old rulers who want to control everything. It's a shame so much of our world is strictly patriarchal societies, as I think women are much more responsible (3/4 of the month!) whether it's with budgets or morals. Too many old men running this world eh?
With regards to Obama, as a Canadian, I like him. He does seem smart and I'm not joining the hate bandwagon that seems to be popular lately. It could be a lot worse, regardless of who's 'bought by the corporations' or w/e. Well it was a lot worse, cough cough 8 years past.

i just dont like him, because A lot of things hes "Done" have had little evidence, Call it a conspiracy theory... but i dont really think osama bin laden is really dead. and hes pulling out of 2 countries, and all this happens the year before the election?, I dont think it would be bad, But the ONLY reason MOST people like him is because of his color... He seems shifty, and Very untrustworthy, more then any other president we've had. but then again I've hated Clinton and Bush too. All 3 have a bunch of War dodgers and ran to canada to avoid draft, they deserve jail, not presidency.
as regards to women, they are more responsible, till they get pissed off, they NEVER let go of a grudge, where a man will shake it off after about 20 minutes, Honestly I dont think we need a woman president, we need a president who is a Blue collar Low wage worker, someone who sees the lower class and will help everyone, And I say man, because when women got to vote, they outlawed Alcohol, and thus started the Great Depression LOL.
Obama recently did not veto the NDAA which is simply a broader Patriot Act from what I understand. I seriously suggest reading through it, especially near page 360.
[page 359-361] http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112s1867pcs/pdf/BILLS-112s1867pcs.pdf
(2) A person who was a part of or substantially
22 supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces
23 that are engaged in hostilities against the United
24 States or its coalition partners, including any person
25 who has committed a belligerent act or has directly
1 supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy
2 forces.
6 (1) Detention under the law of war without
7 trial until the end of the hostilities authorized by the
8 Authorization for Use of Military Force
This shit is scary, and Obama is the one man with the power to veto this. This was a def fail by congress, and president combined. SOPA will probably be next. SOPA simply translates into the censorship of the internet which would put us on par with countries like China and Iran. Other than that, I suggest looking your politicians top donators before voting. Mitt's is Goldman Sachs.
Millions starved, while their leader made a nuclear bomb. That country is shame of humanity. (and a big shame for China too, at least it seems like China starting to realize that)
I'm Canadian so I can't vote in your elections unfortunately.
Ultimately, even if a blue-collar low wage worker becomes president, they'll only have gotten there because they caved into corporate money to be able to get enough exposure to thus be voted in. You need millions in ads to be a house-hold name... or you can just quote the pokemon movie and eat black walnut ice-cream.
Edit: To Hookah... have you ever watched Departures? It's a Canadian show but it's spreading to US/world channels as we speak. Really good travel show, and they have an episode in North Korea. Quite interesting to watch them be chaperoned around the country (and see a different side of it). Kind of sad to see perfectly normal people trapped in a system ><
Its sad, but its interesting to see these "travel" films, like how there is no cars on the 6 line motorway or how people clean the streets with 30 cm brooms.
But if you really want to know what is happening than you have to listen deserters.
Interesting fact that only US has more prisoners per citizen, than North Korea. (However many people die in the North Korea gulags.)
It was funny because the North Koreans showed them stuff like bottling plants, because this was an accomplishment for them (and something worth showing).

The reason the Taliban and Al Quaeda still exist is because they rely on the support from the poor civilization in countries in the middle east, who look up to regional warlords to provide them with food. Why? Because these countries have fuck all economy. Why? Because instead of trying to get an economy up and running to secure the country, the US is busy trying to shoot away a problem that will keep coming at them. You need to look at the root of the problem to fix this and ask yourself WHY these religious fanatics are so succesful in gaining new members. It isn't as much "hostage holding" as it is the western world paying for the fact that we've been sucking poor countries dry for ages. That and the fact that we don't realize it.

I aint going to lie... Everything I know Is from school lol, So I dont read too much into it, all I know Is that we For the most part Made the taliban, and they took over or atleast hold alot of power in a good amount of countries over there.
I do wish all the fighting would stop, its stupid at this point..., I wish the governement would invest more in teh super Tesla coil, If that happend the world would have free power. Forever.

I had an interesting college about that a couple of weeks back. What the prof said isn't a point that was new to me, but he put it forward pretty clearly; politics is acting on the now at it's finest. If you want to be succesful, you need to promise that people will get a better, richer and more luxious life RIGHT NOW. Telling 'inconvenient truths' about what will happen to our planet in 10, 20, 50 years time that the general public would prefer to not hear anyway doesn't get you elected. This is why we won't see any major change until our mistakes start having a direct impact at our lives. I'm not a global warming fanatic, but it'll take a good flood or two before people will resort to changes. I just hope we can avert a third world war.
Or as Enter Shikari puts it: "If our own lives aren't directly affected, then it don't need to be corrected: how fucking cute is our ignorance?"
I don't believe in politics, I believe in survival.
Politics don't matter in the slightest. Seriously does not affect me. After growing up and being able to vote for the last 10 years(I, unlike trend research indicates, voted the first two times I was able to, for federal and provincial), I can honestly say that anything my government(I am Canadian) has done has, in the long run, done NOTHING, has had NO IMPACT on how I live. I no longer care what happens because it matters not. No positive, no negative, it's all just the same shit over and over. Hence why politics are bullshit and everyone pays too much attention to it all.
In 10 years of voting, my vote has never mattered(Federal, Municipal, Provincial). I can say that with UTTER certainty. Because the government I voted against isn't destroying this country or going to war every 3 seconds, and I don't think the government I voted for (if they had won) would destroy this country or go to war ever 3 seconds either... So... does my vote change anything? Fuck no.
We've all been brainwashed by the losing parties to believe that our votes matter, when in truth, the losing party just wants to win so they can feel like their life has meaning or that they have accomplished their life goal(s).
No wonder young adult voting is so low. Because in the end, it doesn't fucking matter.
Show me a government that actually does some REAL good(as opposed to keeping a few promises and screwing up on a few others - this is expected). I may begin to vote again. But never before.
These are direct copy/paste from Parliament Canada's website on Youth Voter Turnout Research:
the broad trend over time for youth voter turnout has been downwards without much respite
and
These numbers remain distantly below the Canadian average voter turnout
Finally, the conclusion of this research:
A precipitous decline in electoral participation of those eligible to vote in their first one or two elections began after the 1984 federal general election. Analysis of trends in voter turnout and research into the non-voting behaviour of Canada’s youngest eligible voters suggests that simply aging will not increase their propensity to vote, as might have been the case with past generations. Further, as these youngest non-voting generations do age, they are replacing older generations who have displayed a much higher propensity to vote than their replacements. The implication of this trend is that the overall voter turnout in Canada will continue to drop.
The young don't fucking care because politics are bullshit and feel it doesn't matter.
I don't speak for all the young, just myself, but uh... the numbers don't lie.
Don't bother replying to my post in hopes I will read it. This thread is dead to me and it gave me a headache. I don't even know why I posted, honestly...
and I am in full agreement with the quote posted by Mozared.
His young son will replace him... I hope is son isn't stupid... and wages war... This could be the beginning of WW3...
im not sure it will go that far..... im just glad that we finally pulled out of iran and iraq.
When were we in Iran???
Only to focus on Kuwait..... Its stupid... next year we will be Right back in Iran and Iraq.... where do you think they will retreat to?
Dumb president... Hes obviously from the ghetto.... hes stupid enough...
