Also it takes away our first admendment, freedom of speech and press, anything that a company doesn't like all they have to do is find one picture on their site thats theirs or thier "friends" and they can lock up the reporters and shut down the media... not even fucking kidding.
@SouLCarveRR: Go
Bad for you. You miss many great stuff.D
But this isnt about piracy anymore. With this bill, I post here link to a torrent site and Bumm there goes sc2mapster...
Its effectively against of freedom of speech... (as many copy right laws already against it)
Eh. If it means shitty movie studios can no longer blame pirating for shitty profits, and end up stop making shitty movies GREAT!!!!!
You have weird logic. I dont see your point. It would just increase the profits of shit movies as most people pirate shit movies and only watch good movies in cinemas.
Btw did you ever checked what budgets movies use? its ridiculous... And many high budget movies is pure crap.
@SouLCarveRR: Go
Plz read the bills first and than start argue what they contain.
If you are experienced in youtube it takes 3 people to take down any youtube video already on it, for x amount time and if once you put up any copyright material on youtube you can no longer have partnership.
SouLCarveRR I am sorry, but your reasoning is sound to me that you want that everybody should pay for any idea.
You seemed like who cares about the money in the movie business as you said that: "If it means shitty movie studios can no longer blame pirating for shitty profits".
it costs no bandwidth for me, I have adsl and our country's network was never overloaded. Seems like you need to switch to cable net or a normal isp.

He thinks its all about movie pirating, because he believes stuff without reading...
The rest was just him trying to insult thats about it....
Oh of FYI .... Google is the biggest opposition to this bill, do you really think that youtube(owned by google), wont get hit? Think again...
Ive read enough regarding sopa. Its just im really not that concerned.
I dont think its all just movie pirating.... but all the legislation is primarily in opposition to IP rights which are completely disregarded these days.
If people would have stopped pirating then it wouldn't have come to this.
And I have yet to see a valid point on how this is a restriction of freedom of speech.
If your post something that is actually you making true use of your freedom of speech there's no way your post would be in violation of these laws unless you are actually breaking other existing laws in your post . Such as if you made a video and the video contained IP material.
I garentee nobodies gonna get locked up with out trial....... that or its time to pick up the guns and bust out the guillotines.... which I kinda wouldn't mind....
@SouLCarveRR: Go
I dont believe such think as IP, its probably the most dangerous thing, that people ever invented...
So I will continue pirating forever. Dont think I only pirate movies and music. I have over 5000 books and I read them.

Well Hookah its people like you who ruin it for the rest of us. Also your statement just reinforces their whole reasoning behind this legislation.
Love the fact that you see nothing wrong with ripping off hard working people.
Try paying for something for once. It feels good....
I like how all your map projects all also marked "all rights reserved" with out the raw files posted. Some how your ideology seems hallow. Maybe you need to share your own IP a bit huh.
@SouLCarveRR: Go
Those hard working poor actors, my heart brakes when I pirate their movies.
Those people I may feel I should contribute their work with money usually share their work for free and have solid financial background. (like these: http://arxiv.org )
Btw an example how I ruin the stuff for you: I have probably more than 20000 pirated tracks on my pc, I would have never bought that much tracks for money, I could even buy nice car from it! And if I wouldnt pirated them, than my musical taste with my current eyes would junk. This way I know I contribute to the best musical artist by attending at their performances.
Btw all of the novel books I read and I pirated have dead authors! I do actually by novels in stores, which authors are still living, these books usually cant be pirated. However I think the current business model for novel authors sucks, they should publish their books for free with hidden advertisement in it. The book industry will die anyway...
Btw here comes the classical question for people like you to think of: If I gave somebody a book to read or cd to listen is it copy right infringement?
I give my maps anybody who request it, I used those stupid banks in all my maps so thats why I protected them in the first place.... (also my old maps are so badly written its better that no one sees it:D)
Actually you have it WAY off, These bills give the copyright holders rights to takedown any sites without notice, and get people locked up WITHOUT TRIAL, WITHOUT PROOF, It only affects the us so it wont help with pirating, if copyright holders gave a damn they would use Other ways to make it so their files cant be copied or stolen or ripped from a cd or uploaded. THese bills are garbage.
I'm sorry, but you cannot be sent to jail without a trial and proof. That's a direct violation of the constitution and nothing like that would ever be passed. All this assume copyright carriers CARE. Nobody would care if you used a google image in your signature.
Thats the thing about this bill, It allows for it, This whole bill is crap... Im going to kill our 1st amendment, and we are america land of the free not america, land of little china.....
Oh just so everyone knows, 90% of people who pirate are pirating things they already own(such as me(5 copies of warcraft 2, keep deleting it lol)), and usually buy anything they did not pay for later.
Yeah some people dont give anything back, But the same can be said about buying a used copy of any game, all you are doing then is paying a corperation who didnt build the game(I dont buy used games it doesnt help the developers).
This bill is not about Piracy its a bill that will make corporations invincible.
This bill also applys to placing a movie review or a game replay online, and say a MAJOR site posted a review that the makers didnt like, the makers can claim copyright and simply shut the site down, and have the owners put on trial.
please lock this thread i am sick of seeing people like soulcarver lie to our faces... yada yada troll yada yada troll (aka he acting like a trol or he's just not very smart.)

The National Defense Authorization Act just passed, thats how much your constitution worth...
(Obama can still veto it, but he wont, his presidency is unconstitutional too....)

WTH? How?
@Taintedwisp: Go
If you really think you tube will get taken down by some little copy right holder people your stupid.
Big copy right holders will settle out of court.
People just will have to start following existing laws or they will get burned.
Tainted Im sorry, but your reasoning and over reaction to me sounds like your just a spoiled kid who doesn't want to pay for anything.
Who cares movie budgets are rediculous its their money to spend. Nobody has to go watch thier movies..
umm... do you realize how much bandwidth is consumed by p2p networks and copyrighted online video.....
if you really think blizz is gonna sue / take down youtube for "tutorials" and in game play, what can I say other then your stupid.....

@zeldarules28: Go RIAA do care and would hunt down every site...
You might cant send people into jail without proof in US, but I am sure, that US can even kill US citizen without trial: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/anwar-al-aulaqi-us-born-cleric-linked-to-al-qaeda-killed-yemen-says/2011/09/30/gIQAsoWO9K_story.html
