This site is probably, to my knowledge, the most progressed sc2 modding forum. I've already seen great things accomplished by the members here. Though the site is very not user friendly(eh, what's a better way to say that?). The overall site is very messy and unclean. The forum is very different from most forums. Will this site every be more like the standard website and forum?
The reason some features are so much different is because everything you see here is homemade. This allows us to link everything together; for example, each project created by an author can have a private sub-forum for their project and automatically be made moderator there.
I do agree, things need some polishing, so any suggestions you have, feel free.
Oh, so everything's made from scratch. Well you can make it so that post times are accurate. Why is it that it has 2 times on a post? Is it that the part that says x time later is the amount of time that has past since the last post has been posted? And the time in parenthesis I assume is how long ago the post has been posted. Well if that's the case then the times are very inaccurate.
I also very much dislike how when you click a thread, it goes to the very last post.
Another thing, i noticed that when you edit a project, it refreshes the date, however, after a couple of minutes, the Last update goes back to the date the project was created, so, some projects seem like they have never been upated since creation, i don't know if anybody else has seen this, but i just edited mine and now it says that it was edited 3 days ago, the day i created it :(

Clicking on a thread doesn't take you to the last post, it takes you to the first post that you haven't read yet. So if there's a new thread with 10 posts in it that you haven't seen, you will be linked to just the first post.

Project dates are based on the files attached to them. If you upload a file, it'll bump the project's date. This is to prevent people from just arbitrarily bumping their project when nothing has really changed.

As stated before, the first time is based on the previous post, to show how much time has passed between posts. The second time is an absolute time based on "now".

I disagree, when I first signed up on these forums a couple days ago, it automatically assumed I had read everything up to the last post on every thread I hadn't yet visited. It functions normally after that, but for the first time it acts like I've already read everything.

How inaccurate are they? Works fine for me.
At the time of this post, it says.
3hours later (57minutes ago)
It's 3 hours later the last post, it's useful to see how the discussion goes. If you want the full timestamp just mouse over the (2 hours ago)
Hi, I just joined but I've been following your site and forums for a while.
That being said, here's my concern: When you click on a thread, it jumps to the last post of the thread. This function is rather annoying and useless.
Good job with the site though!
Seems like that's come up a few times. Will bring it up to the Devs.

I'm sorry but could you be more specific? How is this board messy and unclean?
You mentioned some things about the functions but your post is titled "Overall style and functions of the site."
I find the style very clean and fitting.
