It's not going to be worth it. Vanilla skyrim will be Oblivion with mods and skyrim with mods will take years to develop into something amazing as oblivion with mods. Also it seems like Elder scrolls have been getting so mainstream that it's become a noob's paradise for hack and slash where as before it took skill and knowledge.
It does look pretty cool, but I will not buy it because I am not a fan of Bethesda as a studio and how they treat minor gaming companies, when they were one themself only a few years ago. What would have happened if someone sued them when they were almost out of money? Hopefully non did!

Yo dats business. You're either a shark or a minnow. These streets ain't meant for makin friends - they meant for hustlin.
Bethesda sued some small company? I need the article now. Bethesda isn't even a big company, they're getting some weird ass attention like WoW did when it first went out. I hate to sound like a hipster but I was into warcraft before WoW and I was into Fallout and The Elder Scrolls before Skyrim and Oblivion. I don't get where all this random fandom is coming from. It's like the WoW expansion, people are saying they're copying Kung Fu Panda and I'm thinking these people are complete idiots on youtube thinking it's Kung Fu Panda as Pandarens have been in warcraft long before that 2 bit movie came out.
To those asking about Mass Effect/The Elder Scrolls:
Mass Effect is a better game than Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim on its own.
What makes TES Series better than Mass Effect is the modding capabilities. Usually the game feels kinda empty and buggy until you mod it. One of the first mods I got for Morrowind/Oblivion was the unofficial bug patch. There's always 1-2 of them. After that, I end up with upwards of 100 mods. These mods completely change the way the game works and, usually, make it the most amazing game you have ever played. This is because everything you wanted in the game can be added while anything you DON'T want can be removed.

No the publishing part of bethesda did, besthesda (the devs) themselves had nothing to do with it. Theres even an article saying how they had no choice as its part of protecting a copyright.

Mojang = Minecraft. The latest indie game hit that earned its maker tons of $$$
What Bethesda lawyers (they said it wasnt completely their decision to continue the case) did, was suing Mojang over the use of the word Scrolls in their next game-Scrolls.
Reason: Bethesda finds that the word Scrolls will confuse consumers with their lead game title, The Elder Scrolls.
In the past few months, Mojang offered a name change, saying that they'd rather change their game's name to Scrolls: <subtitle> than continuing the case. Bethesda lawyers however refused.
My PoV: Since when can a person take right for a common word? its just ridiculous if Bethesda wins for the word Scrolls.
On a side note: Skyrim has a random side-quest generator aside from tons of fixed quests, meaning the game won't be completely finished. However, just how creative this generator is (i'll expect something more than a Kill-Loot mission) is still something to find for me.
@Prozaic Muse:
Mass Effect is typically a 'Hollywood' shooter; not that its bad, but mannn do I love the stories these Bioware dudes spin :D. cant wait for ME3
My only disappointment would be the direction they took for Dragon Age 2... Dragon Age 1 was epicc. The second one was lame.
I haven't seen any posts since the 11th, here so I'm assuming everyone is busy playing Skyrim, just as I have been and I've been loving it. I purchased for PC and have been really pleased that Bethesda fixed all the horrible glitching and crashes that made Oblivion nearly unplayable until the mods fixed a lot of the issues. Ive heard some people complain about the UI but it doesn't really bother me much. So what I'm really wondering what everyone else here who's purchased the game has to say about their experience?
This made me laugh and cry (sort off). Also shows how good the game is at developing the connection between the player and the game.
Also bough the game, since then happy with it :D
I played this for couple of hours, don't think this is my type of game. I mean free-roaming, free-will kind of game. I spend the whole day slaughtering Harlvard (the first guy we met at the execution point), but he just couldn't die, he revived everytime, then I got killed. Once I got bored, I go to town slaughtering everyone...
I like it in general. I think the graphic is good, the customization level is various. I don't like the UI though... But this game is not guided, seems so huge, scattered. I tried to play Oblivion, Morrowind as well... just couldn't stay out of slaughtering citizens... Same with GTA, Red Dead Redemption... Not my type... Just mind boggling how everyone can stand it... I wish I could...
My husband rented the game last weekend to try. I have not been able to put it down all week and he has only got to try it for 5 min before i took back. I never played any in the series so I have nothing to go by but this is a really cool game if you need to step away from the computer (got it for the PS3) and play something besides SC2 .
oh and I got married last night on the game to a warrior ahahahaha they have some funny shit you can do after reading the guide. The graphics are amazing - but I am a sucker for dragons and elves and all that medieval nonsense ....
To stay on sc2 or to switch to skyrim? that is the question...I suppose I should atleast check out the tools and perhaps even try to do something. World of skyrim is just so awesome I could easilly think stuff I would want to make.
Preordered it and....will probably get it on Monday -.-

Play Skyrim AND Starcraft at the same time. That takes some mad skills.
