Hi everyone! I wanted to start a discussion thread to ask how everyone is doing as we start the new year. What exciting things do you want to share about any of your projects? Plugging away at something ongoing? Starting something brand, spanking new? Let us all know about it!

On my side of things, nothing much new in sight, but I don't want to give up on old things I do such as WTE and trying to help the others. Although... there are few things I really hope will be finish this year.
Such as, an update for StarParty, it has been forrrreevvveeerrr since the last update and me and TheMusic just did not push enough hard for the update. I miss a bit the interest it had years ago... and it will be hard to promote the game again, even if it's fixed.
Also, I'm thinking about finding some time to invest into giving a helping hand for the wiki. It's old, outdate for many things, some stuff are hard to find, incomplete, etc. It needs love and DrSuperGood can't do it alone.
I want to continue giving very detailled constructive feedback on terrains and maps / missions / campaigns.
I want to answer as soon as possible to any PM i get for help.
This new mapster needs some refresh and it will not happend alone. I'll try to invest some time into giving as much help as I can on participating on the forums, creating detailled tutorials, moderating (at my level as a member, like reporting spam, bugs, issues, etc.) I don't have the full vision yet of all that have to be done to make it better, but I want to give more than just a 2¢ on that. Mapster has always been a reference to me since the beginning of sc2 WoL beta and I grew along with it. It time for it to growth some more.
I'm itching to make multiple simple-ish maps in 2017, hopefully after all this time I've gained enough of ability to be able to follow through with it. Many youtube records from korean scbw UMS scene help greatly at figuring the mood I'm aiming for. Also want to incorporate some of Abvdzh's data assets (namely his Alarak hits my fancy). I haven't seen them used in arcade and that's a real shame, work like that is meant to be displayed.
But for now I'm waiting for replacement parts because on christmas some of my hardware lit up ;_; ...
Well currently I've finish the mods for the new campaign. The mods is a good way to make sure all the custom models, custom skill, custom stats etc transfer nicely to all the campaign maps.
The mission launcher and the prologue should be up just before Valentine [if all went well].
Also learning to use 3D software to model my own custom units, which didn't go well ...
I just hope I've safe enough to buy a new mother board, gtx 1060 an i5 and 16GB ram.
Hi everyone and I hope everything is well with all of you.
I have high hopes for this coming year and I am hoping that we will see alot of new and interessting project, some are already annonced.
For me, I am finishing the last part of the Episode V in the Replicant campaign, tho some parts are still untested I am hoping to realese Episode V in a three months time period. This time featuring the Zerg race.
Thank you for the past year and keep up the good work everyone!
My resolution begins this February. I'll be doing less brainless day-job work and making use of my marketable skills to pay my bills instead, all so I can open up my schedule and work on more campaigns. I'd also like to release at least one SC2 project this year, alongside the slew of Brood War projects I'm working on.
Going forward, I would also like to continue to offer high-quality voice acting, story consultation, and music composition services to members of the community. Compensation for these would be optional, as I'm mostly trying to expand my portfolio for my contracter profile. Just send me a PM if you need anything and we'll talk!
Ultimately, I'm just looking to be as happy as possible. I hope everyone had a good holiday season and I hope I see you all release the projects of your dreams this year!
I'm excited for the custom campaign scene this year. There are so many cool ones out there! (I can only hope mine will deliver now haha)
In terms of what I'm working on SC2Mapster-wise, I'll tentatively say that I hope to get the first mission pack for Unsing Rebels out this year, at least in the alpha/beta stages (a year's a long time, right?).
If all goes well, this will finally be the year were my massive SC2 RPG project will finally be revealed to the public, the one that has been on my mind for several years now and that I have worked on and off on for just as long aswell.
Some people might remember that my (due to copyright) cancelled RPG project "Transformers: Open World", which was rather ambitious in its own right, was merely supposed to be a test run for my RPG project yet to come.
How do you make a mission launcher? Last time I heard only blizzard approved maps could use the triggers to load maps.
It's true that a couple triggers are Blizzard-only, but loading a new map after the current one is completed isn't.
A "campaign launcher" is a map which has a mission select screen. If you press a button, the game will end and load the mapfile that was specified in the triggers. You still need to load the map via the editor all the same, but it feels more like a campaign this way.
Nice, back during HOTS the triggers needed to load a new map were protected. I even tried experimenting with them. I assume the layout used is similar to the HOTS hub map?

So yeah, Im pumped.
Nice to hear that big projects are on the way =D
Working on projects:
Working on a library that allows you to make dialogs in game and outputs the xml/galaxy script into a text file for easy UI construction.
Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)
I intend to finish curating my data assets and make big progress on the wiki.
I also might just take over the former community project and make 2 custom races.
