@LucidIguana Oh wow, that's quite... 78 pages... that's huge. How to keep track of what is real spam from what is not? You can't just go through eatch pages? How to prevent/reduce the spamming at all? Not what is seen by the users, but globally even what is filtered.
You guys should see some of the other communities spam. CurseForge is a massive target at the moment, and we're dealing with a new "generation" of spam bots.
Also hi :]
I haven't left you guys. I just realized I haven't updated everyone in a long while. Some things internally shifted around, and we're working on some pretty gnarly overhauls and migrations on our backend at the moment. Dev resources have been entirely sucked away (we're working on a remedy for that right now). Training and moving people around. I'm spending a lot of time just trying to manage queues and backlogs.
We're working on getting a couple of guys dedicated just to community development work. I hate putting you guys off for so long, but hands are tied.
ya sure he's still listening, guys? he arrived, ruined our site, and left..
If Mr.Flamegoat never would've shown up after the initial announcement, that might be correct. But he did talked to us, including creating this feedback topic.
A while ago he said that everyone at Curse is busy. Even if he had the time and knowledge to change things on this website all on his own, he still needs the ok from upper management.
I'm sure the 5 or so other software engineers on this forum agree when I say that this is not a simple or fast matter to resolve. Good things take time, so please be patient.
While I'm at it, here are some links to resolve the two biggest issues at the moment: Use the classic skin to change the color scheme, and use Google search as a workaround for the sometimes buggy forum search option.
