No, there is no point in any of this. Why make a map if sooner or later SC2 will die, along with every maps and mods that were created for it. How long it will be, 10, 20 years? and then what. All you've done will be in vain, cause 50 years from now on no one will play the maps you've made anyway. Why bother if what you've created won't last even an age.
Does that answer your question?
I don't think blizz made any statements on question you're asking so your guess is as good as mine. I would think/hope that we'd need to own HOTS to publish for HOTS. Hopefully it will also clear up all old junk maps. But whatever happens there will always be someone upset.
This has already been released months ago. Short answer: yes.
Even if it was no does it matter ?... No, not at all because every mapper know that the actually writing/triggering/data work takes no time at all compared to creating a concept or understand how the system works.

I know that wasn't meant 100% seriously, but... WOAH BUDDY!
i think if you want the HOTS stuff in your custom map all you have to do is add the HOTS dependencies. There is no reason to believe maps in WOL wont work in HOTS or vice verse.

You have to have the files needed for the dependencies in your SC2 folder.
So if you want to transfer a WoL map with campaign dependencies to HotS you have to copy the WoL Campaign assets (in the "Campaign" folder) into your HotS folder or it won't work.
Probably vice versa (HotS maps work in WoL if the HotS assets are available) but I don't know about that.
that would be really weird, I know it should not be possible, but i dont see how blizzard can prevent it. Even if they mark the hots dependencies as unplayable for Wings of Liberity, whats stopping some random guy adding some of the Hots custom models to his own "mod" dependency and then uploading it. Obviously if its against the rules, blizzard would ban it, but it would have to be reported and stuff first,
Seems like such a hassle, Guess we gotta wait and see whats blizzard stance on this.
For sure though that WOL maps will be playable in HOTS just by adding the HOTS dependencies ( to re-answer the thread )

Actually my goal, with some project.. is to create a legacy... So that when Sc2 does die someone else will pick up the torch and remake my map.
Is there a point to make a map now?

Vice Verse part is as no too by the way

@Taintedwisp: Go That will be easy. Future games just new to have a map editor and a tree model future map makers will use to recreate it.
You're talking about mini chop farms, right? XDD
