I spent half a day testing this with Rodrigo, and I have to say it's a stupid little game, but that is why it is so bloody good. Too many people are getting caught up on the idea that they need to have a massive map with thousands of hours poured into it like Sotis to be popular, look at Mineralz, a very simply written map with horrendous dialogs, but a unique and novel idea that is fun to play.
As I said to Prozaic. Ryan and Dryeyece whilst testing this, it is going to go far, because it is a simple, stupid (as in objective) map that is remarkably fun to play, has great replayability and is exactly the type of game that teenage american kids on their summer holidays will want to play.
Rodrigo did really well here, and is a great lesson to all. When you are making one style of map and it isn't working (Debates/NWW - The Social maps), sometimes its better to cut your losses and just try and cheese your way onto the popularity list by catering to the greater market of players, the younger players who are now playing because it is summer holidays.
And you know, I am so damn proud of Rodrigo, as he said to me I have been there as a beta tester in every single one of his maps, and it's true. I have always been there to support him, even if I didn't agree with the 'social' maps, because I personally found their replayability low, he went out on a completely different tangent and has created something I think will go to the top of the Popularity list.
