Well, SotIS never felt too good. It did look like, in my opinion, a cheap carbon copy of DotA minus the little balance it sometimes appeared to have to be something completely obnoxious.
EDIT: Not sure what the «the staff was incompetent» is about, but that, paired with the «I'll get back to you», sounds way familiar. Smells a bit like bullshit. It is very easy to, after having the moderators run without defined objectives and code of conduct, come down and say they're all incompetent. The explanation doesn't please me at all.
Strange how the actual creator has not posted anything himself.
If one of them does explain the situation, that one should be really careful with their words, which is why I don't think ekcolnovkol should publicly explain the situation; it would probably start some kind of war between him and sidd.
When you have played as many different maps and games as I have you eventually realize that in the long run none of it really matters. Maps come and go.
You had 2 human teams vs each other then 3. The 3 became different races (human, night elf and undead). The one lost popularity so it reverted back to 2. Heroes were mixed and matched and in some cases even stolen from other maps. Eventually a decent item system was installed and after about 260 revision map versions you got what was known as DOTA. It spammed the game lists and most were empty. Eventually people grew up and forgot about it. Then SC2 came along and some fanatic thought they would revive it. Trouble is the SC2 editor alows for alot more sophisticated maps so it was not as popular. The end (or is it?).

Just popular enough to get back to top 5 played maps on EU in a few days after it got renamed (meaning it got thrown to the bottom and lost its bookmarks).
It seems that people really like to hate on the map, even though it appears that it's exact the kind of map that a portion of b-net players want.
Considering dozens of versions of the unit test map were the top played map for months on end in the EU makes that not mean alot. Blizzard even admitted their game ranking system was and still is flawed.
You have a point... but whatever... haters gonna hate. That's why I am only donating to my map project :3

So many people with failed projects here who are hating on SotIS for no reason other than that it's successful.
You lurk these boards just to make those kinds of posts, don't you?
@Eiviyn: Go
It was?
@Mozared: Go
Ah, so you are the power mad mods he was ranting on about? You two got a history?

But it's not dead, like someone said earlier, it was just renamed and moved to another site. The new project is still on page 1.
