First, I want to point out that the objective of this thread is not to criticize Blizzard. I'm opening this thread only to emphasize a very important rule on Blizzard's policy that every player has the right to know. I am just sharing knowledge to clarify the rules that is our duty to know.
When you installed Starcraft 2, you agreed with the Blizzard Policy and Terms of Use.
In extreme cases, [your] account will be closed outright.
So, if you violate the policy, you might be banned without warnings.
But when we violate the policy?
On the "Inappropriate category," it clearly says that you break the policy if you have a content that
Quote:
Is otherwise considered inappropriate for the game world.
The game world is determined by Blizzard. It's their game; therefore, you violate the policy if you have a content that is otherwise considered inappropriate for Blizzard.
Thus, If they tell you that you have inappropriate content, the content is considered inappropriate for them, and therefore you are already violating the Blizzard policy.
In other words, when you bought the game, you agreed that Blizzard can legally ban you for any reason.
True, I did not 100% knew it, but I thought it works this way. They are the creator of the game, I would definitely put these rules in a game of mine as well.
Thankfully they have that power. I've never been caught up in a ban in like 12 years of playing Blizzard games by simply following the rules. I wish they banned more people.
I'd hardly say that, if anything it's the other way around. For 99.9% it's a major issue, it's just there's nothing they can do so after months of bitching, they've just faded away. If you think this is a non-issue, you're blind and naive. Just cuz people don't scream their heads off doesn't mean they're not upset.
It's true that you CAN draw such a conclusion from their policy. But such a rule on "inappropriateness" is usually used to safe guard themselves from those crazy folks that want to make the whole world children-friendly. You allow a unit to be named Jesus, and you could have the whole religious community coming to your doorstep with flaming torches (obviously to talk some sense into you in a peaceful manner... )
Or it could be just to make it legal for them to delete maps without having to go to trial on the issue. Some maps really do deserve instant delete, ie trolls.
Take it with a grain of salt, they're not really gonna ban you for every little thing you do.
I got ONCE banned in my Blizzard-gaming-career (10 years, 4 games) and I admit that i used a maphack when that happened (Diablo 2). In my opinion there is nothing wrong with this, they should ban whoever they want to ban. The past showed that they are indeed are willing to discuss with the banned users (for example: The map Tank Defense got banned for having a nazi symbol in it, after discussion and removing it the map was allowed again), so i don't think they will abuse this might.
Well, but why would they ban? They can't be sued! There says that you agree with everything Blizzard says, so you can't sue Blizzard for being offended in one map with a nazi symbol.
Bah, there's nothing odd with this. They wouldn't last long as a company if they didn't have rules like these. It's not like they're abusing them or all players would simply leave them!!
Blizzard's policy in one word - "Obey" Overly controlling nazi-regime ftl.
Do you ever post anything that isn't a melodramatic complaint? Just whining all the time is what babies do. You're not doing anything to convince us that you are correct, you're not stating anything which is backed up by credible facts, all you're doing is bitching and moaning about such and such, over and over.
Come up with a reasonably convincing argument as to why Blizzard should be boycotted and I'll listen. Make a thread listing all of your complaints, give me examples of their injustices and we can have a debate. Seriously.

I hope I helped to clarify the rules. :)
...which isn't any different from any other game.
Every company does it so they don't have to fear banned players starting lawsuits to regain their "right" to play.
Only difference is Blizzard's likely to enforce this rule, every other company just keeps them as safety-nets.
