The people with the power to change this site left years ago. There's still competitions from 2012 on the front page advertising Heart of the Swarm beta keys. Apparently they were even going to take the site down at one point.
I'm just wondering, what did most people switch to that they thought was better after they left Sc2? I love the editor and it's really powerful. The only other program I can see being relatable right now is CryEngine or Unity, both of which dont really have a way to publish easily like Sc2 as far as I know.

well starcraft has biggest advantage, i guess, to switching to more open Engine is that it will lack of Net coding and servers to host games.. But with Steam Greenlight (trashlight) you may establish something more freeish..
My understanding is that Curse was going to close Sc2Mapster because of low site traffic a few years ago, but Sixen (one of the founders) convinced them to keep it up. I'm not sure if there were agreed upon conditions, but I have gathered that they want nothing to do with it and don't respond to Mapster moderators' emails for any issues. Basically, we don't exist for Curse. There was some debate about moving sites a while back, but there is so much on this site and it would be most difficult to transfer/bring everyone along...also a ton of work and maintenance.
I've asked various moderators about updating things and getting rid of our 3 year old poll, but they are all pretty nervous to touch anything like that and crash the site. Also, I was informed that Curse did some kind of update that locked a lot of moderators out of the website.
Perhaps it is time to update the Moderator List and get someone to hound Curse for more access.
Hello there. I've been working on what you could call my personal prefered way to browse assets. It's still just a concept and it's subject to change.
Tell me what you think. Constructive criticism is very welcome :D

I'd focus your time elsewhere!
yeah, everything is so dead starcraft related :/
Yea, none of the mods here have the power to change much, and I doubt curse is going to put any effort into this site :(

why is leadership over the site not passed to some1 else then? does it really have to be curse?

I would assume it is because they have no reason to pass ownership to someone else.
I'd just be thankful that the site still exists at all, to be honest.
