We're in the home stretch for our contest and we wanted to put out a final checklist for you guys to review to make sure you have everything ready to go.
I'm guessing the sentiment is that they want the game people play when voting to be the submitted version (with no development post May 31st). So it would be unfair to have a map with the same name and more updated openly available. And if a submitted game published with a slightly different name were to become popular relative to the submitted version, I'd imagine it would be grounds for disqualification.
I'm guessing as long as the more updated version has an unappealing name, or even better, is private, there shouldn't be a problem. Regardless of the name, however, I'm betting that a submitted map with a more updated version that's more popular with any name (even 'afiesfefjsiofe') would be disqualified.
I'm not sure exactly if I'm following but to reiterate, the map you submit cannot be touched until the contest is over. You can do whatever you want with any other map, as long as it's not the one you submitted for the contest. Uploading a second copy of your game that is clearly labeled is a viable option.
Blizzard and the players will only be judging the 'RTC' version.
Traysent, I was wondering: How many of you guys will be testing the maps? Some maps, like mine, require at least 4 ppl to be any fun. But then again, 6 Blizz employees playing arcade for two weeks straight? xD
how long is the judging period? Will the winner be announced (or at least notified by Blizzard) within X weeks after the 31st?
Also, I have been unable to link my separate tutorial map to my main map. This seems to be because the tutorial is 'locked'... will Blizzard consider this accompanying tutorial when judging the "Accessibility" of a map, even if not linked? Additionally, why can't locked maps be linked to as tutorials?
I don't know about your tutorial issue but I can ask someone about it if no one here has an answer. We'll still consider the tutorial if it's uploaded as part of your submission.
The submission form only allows us to upload a single file. How exactly would I include my primary map, and the standalone tutorial? I've been asking around Mapster for more than a month about this (not being able to link to the locked separate tutorial map) and no one has any idea, so I would appreciate you checking. Thanks!
Going to be pushing rather hard tonight/tomorrow morning to get a few final things put in my submission. That said, how can I be sure my entry was received and there were no problems with it in a timely manner? Is there a confirmation mail of sorts to say it has been received and there were no issues, or do I just have to shoot an email to the arcade email and hope I get a response in time?

Feel free to hit us up with any final questions before the contest ends.
Thanks!

If my games name is "Tessera" can I upload a version named "RTC - Tessera" and another one just named Tessera that I will be updating?

Pure speculation, btw.
edit: aww, I was completely wrong.

That's absolutely an option.

All the judging details are located in the rules under the judging sections.

We'll make sure to have enough players when we go through the games, don't worry. =)

My time conversion skills are terrible.
Anyone with better skills, do we have 55 hours left or 31 hours left?
According to this: http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/
It will close 8am GMT on Sunday. So 55 hours.
I didn't see your map in the battlenet forums Tya, I assume you're working on something secretive.

Screenshot in how-to-play does not seem the be required but I'd just use the same screen there as well if I were you - looks better.
Soonâ„¢!
Ooooh I only wish I had that much time to work with the editor...
Who else does not dare to submit his map? What if there are still bugs left :O
That is exactly why I am waiting until tomorrow to fill out the form and submit lol.

Are you able to zip up your map and tutorial and upload them both as a submission?
@Traysent: Go
May we know what the files are for?
Is it for translation purposes for the winners? Or to make sure that the submission wasn't altered? Or some other purpose?

In the last few hours I wonder how many new entries are suddenly going to appear.

I just submitted, and received an auto-generated e-mail as confirmation.
Good luck everyone :D
