I just opened a thread complaining about Bounty constantly hacking my new map. I've asked him nicely to stop. I keep changing the crypt, but he keeps opening my locked map, copying the code and editing the ranking with nasty things.

Edit: The hacker is featuring Bounty's map, so I believe Bounty is involved on it. I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.

3. The hacked message asks to play his maps, and critizices my map, and he is the only one that does that. Who else would spend the whole day and hack 3 times with 3 different messages and all messages asking to play Bounty's maps?

I can only see four matches tbh, all on September 27.

Well, 1 hour ago you wrote he hacked his savefile 3 times "today".
If you had really updated your protection algorhytm today, previously generated scores wouldn't just show or spread anymore. Unless you clean cheated scores manually without any kind of parity check that is.

My cleaning was superficial and manual, and he does not need to use his account (he have 2 guest passes). If it's not him, whoever is doing that it's not his friend.

We wouldn't be having all this childish bickering if people focused on making good maps rather than trying to cheat the system.

I mean if he wants to hack, I dont care... Who wants to cheat, can, who doesnt, he will play fair and have more fun.

People that cheat will accomplish(in game) same things as people who dont cheat. Just cheater's his length will be significaly compared to player who plays fair.
And map he is cheating will become boring to him. Well, only if he is doing this for pissing people. Then he will stop until people wont care about that.

Similar like when I was playing DotA back in the days. If there would be some player in game, that would start insulting other people how noob they are. I would sart arguing with them. That was really fun to me xD. He would become frustrated to the point where he would leave or would be unable to play normally xD. Hilarius hehe.

It sucks that people can just open your locked map like that...

Im sure someone has thought about this already, but can the hacker open your data editor as well as the script?

Data editor Yes. Script, Not so sure, but I believe so.

Yea, script can be seen too. I wasn't too sure about data tho. Seems they can see pretty much everything.

This kind of behavior i believe is not documented on their TOS, because he's not messing with the client, just the bank file locally. (i might be wrong, some lawyers twist the word on the TOS and argue it with me please)

In any seriousness, in implementing a feature such as online ranking with the current state that bank data or map is not protected enough, you might need to scrap it. And please don't whine, scrapping thing is a normal process in development.

As much as it sucks that they can easily view and edit locked maps sucks and needs to be adressed ASAP, I don't think your ranking system really brings anything to the game. It's still a cool system though.

Also, I gotta say you did an awesome job on the map and as much as it's rude to have added "nexus wars" in the name, I completly see why you did it. I bet if we all did that with our maps blizz would perhaps act quicker ?

In addition, I don't know if it was suggested on your main thread, but you should try to add a custom chat (because when you're defending the bottom left corner, it's hard to see the names when the chat spam is covering em xD). What would be awesome is if you were able to put the chat somewhere else (at the left center IMO) and in smaller font. Also, if if would be nice if you implemented something like when the player adds '//' at the begining of its message, it is displayed in red/green. It would make it a lot easier to communicate with partners (most of the time you,re not looking at the chat cause it's only spam).

This begs a very moral question: Should users be allowed to edit their bank file?

I say yes, in the same way World of Warcraft users can open their Addon files and modify them as they like.

You know what Rod your really f*cking pissing me off with these accusations. You need to shut the f*ck up and stop blaming me just because im one of the more outspoken people about what you like to do. Example, if i make a map called "Rodrigo is a douche bag", that does not mean YOU made it. The only map i saw that was promoted was the map i just made for the sc2mapster boss contest which is part of the Planetary Boss series WHICH will never become popular because its not that type of map. Its a boss map, which are only popular for a select group of people.

How was i QQing? Seriously how the hell can anyone like you anymore? You purposely rigged your old map from beta (Platform Defense) when Debates failed and i called you out on it, man the f*ck up. Whenever any of my maps fail i regroup and think of a new idea and go with it. Perhaps if you tried that you might actually come up with something unique rather then making the same boring ass genres that everyone else is.

I liked Nexus Word Wars, even though its obvious that all you did was see how Nexus Wars was #1 and ripped it off and added this mechanic to it (which was posted on mapster a few weeks or so before Word Wars was released)

Stop coming after me because im the only one that knows your true ambitions. You had one great idea thats only flaw was that it was created for the wrong community(Debates). Now all you do is do your best to rip off or scam your way to the top and promote your failed project (Debates).
