Hello, I am making a large sc2 project. I am looking for people who have experience with 3ds max and the art tools, who know how to make a a.i. and who can make good looking textures, I have worked on this alone for a while, but its taking a long time and i don't have even half the models and effects that I need, And I have problems with the animations (and I suck at making textures).
conditions are you must work for free.
the guys who make the textures will have the models sent to them so they can make the textures right. i will be doing all the data and triggers (besides a.i.)
I also wouldn't mind a guy who knows how to add a award system to help :D .
contact me at: "email@example.com"
Edit*: i wont be saying game play details incase anyone decides to steal it, all i will say is it will be fun for the masters and the noobs (once balanced lol but like sc2 no units will be the same to mix things up)
Your post is a request for someone to join you on your project who can do
A) modeling and animating,
and C) AI development.
You ask him to do all of that for free, regardless of the fact that anyone who has decent 3ds Max skills and can do modeling, animating OR texturing (yes, even just one of the three) well can actually aim for a paid position within the games industry without that much difficulty.
Not only that, but you ask him to do this for a project he doesn't know anything about because you're unwilling to give out any information.
On top of that, there's the fact that you have no credentials: you have nearly no posts, no uploaded projects and you're using the custom avatar. Your only point of contact outside of Mapster is a Yahoo address.
Last but not least, let me inform you right now that we get posts like this one fairly regularly: people have an idea and want to make a map out of it (which is great), but they have no credentials, don't even claim to have any mapping experience and yet claim to want to create a project that will blow everyone else's out of the water.
Now I don't want to be a dick; honestly. But the thing is, you're never going to get someone to help you like this. SC2Mapster isn't craigslist, or a place where you can ask for someone to do a tremendous amount of work requiring a valuable skill for free for a project they don't know anything about. If you're really enthousiastic about mapping and what to get your project out there, you need to do either one of two things:
1. Up the ante. Offer a paid position, drop maybe a hint of what you're working on and let people know you're serious about this.
2. Lower your requirements. Let people know you're a hobbyist and that you're working for fun on a project - show folks what your project looks like so you give people a chance to get interested and help out voluntary. Participate in the community to show you're not some dude who will be gone next week but that you'll actually here to stay.
I genuinely wish you the best of luck with your project, but please recognize that you're not going to get it to where you want it to be in this manner. You need to give people more of it as well as yourself.
i have posted what i am making on sc2's forums its long and talks about the types of units i am making. there are 3 nations, each with a cause to why they are what they are. the game play is multiplayer, since nobody wants to help i will do it all which means this will take up to 3 months to 2 years, i am willing to do this by myself if i must, (besides for minor questions). i am already used to animating so animations wont be hard.
i also am adding a new thing to micro in this that i dont think any games like this have done.
award system will be added, will only change skins (maybe even effects) although this wont be added till after alpha and beta are past since while they are running i will research on how to add a ranking system lol.
once again i can say i will pay.
this game will come out with or without your guys help.
