Maybe that means they use them for some kind of custom map project, and that could further entail that they have more Warcraft style custom models for that in production.
Or they just forgot to put the models in which is more likely I guess ;)
We are still intending to incorporate Warcraft III assets into the SC2 editor. They have definitely not been forgotten and we're sticking to our time table of 'some time in 2014'. But yes, I am bummed we haven't been able to get them out yet.

Thank you, Traysent. Great news for me!
My WC3 mod just need to wait for the assets to be released now...
Considering uploading each patch extract to github to streamline the process of identifying additions, as they have convenient source comparison tools, the whole shebang visible to anyone interested. Don't imagine Blizz would take issue if it excludes model, texture, sound, flash, movie, et cetera assets, and campaign map junk.
Will update this as I find them or as they are pointed out. Please let me know if any of these aren't real changes.
First thing I noticed was that the WarCraft 3 hero models appear to not be present.
aww man, the Warcraft 3 models were all I wanted it for too.
There's still some possibility that they'll be included in a separate dependency, like the Left2Die models.
Still, given how quiet they have been about them, I would guess that they are no longer on the table.
Hmm, interesting.

They're absent from the patch note round-up. Also; here's the patch note round-up.

Some models may have been added. For example, there are
archonbeamsuper.m3
soulhunterbeam2.m3
soulhunterbeam3.m3
beam models that I don't remember I ever seen. Am I right and they are new?

Nope. Those have been there since WoL.
Is it just these orc heroes or are there more?
@Traysent: Go Thank you for replying Traysent. Sometimes the presence of you devs around here goes unnoticed.

Are there any more details so that those of us who would wish to make immediate use of these assets, would have time to prepare?
The Editor now supports copy paste in pitch and roll!!!!! :D I now don't have to re-pitch and roll each individual doodad.
Also, it is always good to see a dev or 2 posting in these parts (was that a patch 2.1 feature as well? :) )
Dialog control property string Handle and a corresponding UI frame element were added.
Many, many actor data field tooltips were added, some exceedingly long for the amount of detail they managed to pack into them.
Improved support for custom tokens; huge range of types supported and loses type less often.
Various changes to UI layouts; will eventually assemble an updated frame element support list.
I didn't notice this. These are great. Some are even interesting purely for the sake of trivia.

No Server-side bank file yet?
:(
What is the difference between an Extension Mod and a Dependent Mod?
Extension mods apply data + triggers to a melee map.
Dependant mods apply data + assets (models/sounds etc) to a melee or arcade map.

I was hoping for that too but I guess that's 2.2 hopefully.
