as some of you might know, some members of the Upheaval Arts team visited BlizzCon this year!
We had the chance of talking to Tony Hsu after the Starcraft II Update panel to ask him a couple of questions, and we found that it would be a good time to finally get an update on server side banks.
Tony stated that server-side banks were initially planned for patch 2.1 (Which is the next big SC2 patch sheduled at the end of this year), but they couldnt get it in in time. So yeah, the good news is, server-side banks are indeed planned and are worked on for patch 2.2!
I hope this helps some people planning and/or preparing their projects! Just wanted to share this important information with you guys, i know alot of you are waiting for this. :)
Please remember that this is not an official confirmation as of yet and was just some sort of lose talk. Dont quote me or Tony on any of this please.
Certainly seems like good times are coming. Larger clan support with clan calendaring. Arcade going F2P. Serverside banks. If they add true multiplayer campaign support, seems like we are golden.

Thats another question we asked. On Blizzcon we were told that Blizzard totally wants to see this feature but just doesnt have enough resources at the moment to implement it. But it might get available in the future. :)
Not to mention them "fixing" Reaper of Souls, Heroes-oTS is up and coming, nerfing Priest's mind control. Blizzard... Has become 200% more awesome in every aspect. But server side banks? Make that 500%. No longer shall we have to worry about bastards hacking into their banks! We are now free - to delete those really cluttered bank encryption triggers! FREEDOM!
Would love to see multiplayer campaign support in SC2, but even if it ever gets in, it'll probably be in 5 or more years. Glad to hear about serverside banks, though.

We certainly switched to an alternative universe where blizzard is good.
Blizzard has become awesome as of late.
Pretty awesome.
Server Side banks $_$. Beautiful.
Finally.
Curious about how large the server side banks space would be.

As much as i like HotS, its sad that they had to shift resources from SC2 to it. :(
